I'm tempted to get one for the Mini-Cons and sell or trade off the Jetfire since I don't have the Optimus anyway (and get a Spacewarp someday if one is ever made), but I'm not sure.

I've also idly been considering repainting the Powerlinx Red Alert into Energon Prowlert, because [1] I doubt I'll be able to resell him since everyone else getting the set is likely getting that for the Mini-Cons as well, and [2] to my surprise the orange parts on the former are blue on the latter, and MOST of everything else (gray/white) either lines up or is close enough.

I think about a lot of things I can't actually afford.

Armada Optimus is AWESOME, he WAY better than the attempt at modern G2 design, you are missing a great figure

I did manage to raise funds for the Nemesis Prime retool, so at least I get to have half that much fun.

That sounded less sad in my head.

This Bumblebee works so wonderfully well in that vein, being a mold that is very much not Bumblebee redecoed into Bumblebee-ish in colors that only just barely approximate Bumblebee colors (putting more prominence on the black over the yellow) while still incorporating the signature olive green color of the original Machine Wars toys into the deco (while not as apparent from the pic I posted, the olive green can be found in places all over the figure as the transitional part of the gradient blending the black into the yellow).
In my perception it's more common for MW toys to be the opposite, a mold ranging from appropriate to "we'd have accepted this mold for a homage in 2003 on the basis of it having a fitting altmode" and then a color scheme that seems totally random. If you asked me to design you a Machine Wars Bumblebee using a mold from that era, I'd probably come up with something like a green Earthrise Runamuck.

If we're speculating on what hypothetical wave two MW toys would have been, we need to look at the early 90s Euro G1/G1.5 moulds and anything from the tail end of G2.
It's always possible Hasbro would have dug deeper for moulds had MW proven to be a success, but for the purposes of keeping the "spirit" of what it was, I think those are good starting points.
So with that said? I think a good base mould for a hypothetical MW Bumblebee is G1 Boss. He wouldn't have had his missiles.

Colour scheme may seem random but there is a method. Machine Wars figures were all gang moulded. The weirder aspects of the line- such as Optimus' and Prowl's olive green- were the result of those parts being moulded along with Thundercracker and Sandstorm. It's likely that any G2 wave would have its own collective gang moulding and not be reliant on the wave one layouts but, again, let's use that as a basis to keep the "spirit" of the line alive.

Wave one had Hubcap and Skywarp's head so we know yellow was in play. Still, yellow for Bumblebee seems too sensical for MW. So instead I'm going to look at the reddish brown plastic used for Soundwave's shoulders, arms, and chest, and Thundercracker's shoulders and thighs. That's the colour I'd use for Boss-as-Bumblebee's base, the light blue on the original figure.
I would use the yellow from Hubcap and Skywarp though, using it for the dark blue used on Boss' upper arms, thighs, head, and gun. I'd use the translucent blue plastic from Sandstorm, Starscream, and Optimus' windows for Bumblebee's windows and robot head light piping.
And as the cherry on top? Boss' greenish stickers would be turned black, ensuring that they blend into the dark reddish brown base body. Now that's a Machine Wars Bumblebee.

Thank you for coming to my TedTalk.

New Cyclonus is significantly taller than Galvatron. Kingdom is taller but only due to his helmet being taller in general. New one is unquestionably taller than Galvatron.

New altmode is gappy if properly transformed but if you leave the feet in robot mode configuration, they help fill it in and look close enough to thrusters.

In fairness, Cyclonus was taller than Galvatron on the movie/s3 size charts. And as for the gapy back of the alt mode...

Hope stock evens out soon; I missed out on one today because by the time the store got back to me, I was neck deep in work I hadn't even planned to do for the day (which meant the work I HAD planned to do today, I am... still doing hours later). By the time I got back to them, the lone copy had been sold.

Actually looking forward to this now. The color must be tricky to capture depending on the surroundings and the camera, because it genuinely looked too close to Kingdom when it first showed up, and in subsequent pictures has improved. The head sculpt is also better (but the Kingdom sculpt set a LOW bar) while still evoking the show model. The leg tweak is appreciated, and for more than just height; it was confusing every time how to fold up the thighs into the boots. I actually DO hope you can still have the thighs partially in the boots still (the rivet of the knee about a semicircle/halfway in), if only because they seem to have overcorrected a tad when they're fully extended -- the arms now kind of have the same JUST-too-short that Pointblank's have.

You can’t have have the thighs partially extended since they use a CW-style method of transforming where the leg locks into place with a tab on the bottom of the thigh slotted into the back of the kneepad. The shin won’t close without everything lined up.
