I haven't looked closely at the G1 Devastator mold recently but I suspect it's a matter of it only really being noticeable when you're looking at him from really close to straight on while his arms are both pointed straight down.

Devastator is a partial frame combiner. None of the lower three bots connect to anyone, but the arms both connect directly to Hook. So he's not ideal, but also not really the same as the others.

And yes, the arms always bugged me. More so the fact that the shoulder joint is on the inner side of the treads for Bonecrusher and the outer side for Scavenger than that the forearms are offset. He can freely rotate his right arm, but not his left.

The block in front of Shockwave's grip doesn't fit around Bruticus's fist. You could cut it off (or there are 3D printed adapters already floating round), but the stock toy doesn't work.

I figured out that the 'hollow tube' gun with the odd foregrip from Red Cog will let AOTP Bruticus hold a CW Shockwave without having to file or cut anything. Pure coincidence but it slots right together, no mods needed.

Then just fold it back flat, and he's set!

I was going to cut off the front peg on CW Shockwave but I think I'll just do this seeing as I was already using the various Cog Guns for the team anyway.

Between the Centurion pack and Red Cog I was very happy with the accessories-and-repaints packs (you can see the radar dish on top of ShoulderWave), and while Tricranius was a general letdown for me, my nephew loved it, so to each their own. I don't understand why they stopped doing the extra parts and such. The packs at retail were far CHEAPER than any other option for such a range of accessories, Shapeways back in the day costs more, and not everyone has a home printer (and even fewer have one that can handle decent detailwork).

I know there's talk of reissuing Centurion, but if they do, I hope they rework/refresh the accessories a bit, since some are outdated.

Because the arms are designed to come together at that point in trailer mode, the ports that the missile launchers plug into are offset, making the launchers just slightly asymmetrical. It's a little thing, but annoying as all get out, particularly as Ultra Magnus is really only meant to be displayed head-on.

I tried a while ago. That blue is hard to get right, and the SS86 stock images have a blast effect that is really annoying to work around. And no inner robot.

Missing Link Ultra Magnus is one of the best things they've ever done. I need to afford one someday.

While I would like to see G1 toy decos on some SS '86 moulds, I think Magnus is one where it's just not needed. The inability to do the "inner robot in armour" means the mould is exclusively animation Magnus.

Now Kingdom Magnus... yeah I need that one in toy colours.

It's a beautiful thing. Although, I opted for the Delta Magnus deco, mainly because I feel like I have a lot of regular-ass Magni in my collection already.
