Hasbro: "Got it! Siege Magnus in toy colors. We'll get right on it!" 😛
Siege Magnus needs to be done in RiD '01 Magnus colours.

All the more reason to make a transforming cab Magnus that fits into the armor... Get on it, you cowards
Apparently Takara wants to give it a try...

I'm confused. From context it looks like you intend this to be understood as a bad thing?

Man, I wish I'd gotten that Legends version. Its deco is gorgeous!

I thought about selling my LG version a few years ago but I just can't. He's really vibrant and Alpha Trion is quite cool.

I have a Frankenthing that mixes Hasbro and Takara parts. I think it's mostly Hasbro but it has all the Takara parts that have extra paint.

I kinda like that Prime design. I wanted the big one that has a hollow trailer and a bunch of weapons (I don't remember the name and TFWiki is sloooooooooow lately) but I just didn't want it enough for the price at the time.

While I would like to see G1 toy decos on some SS '86 moulds, I think Magnus is one where it's just not needed. The inability to do the "inner robot in armour" means the mould is exclusively animation Magnus.

Now Kingdom Magnus... yeah I need that one in toy colours.
Many of the SS86 molds HAVE been done in toy colours, though. I'm tempted to say most of the "movie" characters, especially if the toy deco was different enough. I admit that the lack of inner robot is a factor, though. Anyone willing to do a digi mockup of the Kingdom mold?

The problem is the inner robot's thighs are exposed, so you have to pick your poison. Do you want accurate thighs on the inner robot, or accurate thighs on the super mode?

Joyride/Hotwire are... Eh. I can see the logic of using Sureshot's mold, and it's not a bad idea. Close enough altmode, a little partner guy, makes perfect sense.

But in practice it clashes with a lot of the associations I'd formed with the Joyride design. Even before getting into the partsformeriness of the spoiler bits, which I don't like on either use of the mold. For some (like Abominus and a lot of G1) I'm more toy-oriented thanks to only experiencing them via catalogs and Transformers Generations, so in my mind Joyride is kind of a chonky boi. Here he's very lanky. This would be okay, but the color distribution is way off (needs solid color magenta upper/lower arms, and fully white lower legs). I'm sure it's a matter of sprue breakdowns, so... Shrug. Also, I thought this was just me seeing the color wrong in earlier photos -- but the magenta, one of the prominent and standout colors on Joyride (made MORE prominent by it largely replacing the white on the legs), is just... straight-up red here.

Hotwire is pretty much what you might expect, just replacing the gun bits with an engine block. BUT the engine block actually pops off, so you might think you could avoid the retooling compromise resulting in plugging in a ginormous chunk. Alas, it lacks any way to peg just that on as the tacked-on engine. So close.

Popped over in the Japanese TF thread, but Tomy has dropped a number of teases for upcoming releases, including our first looks (of sorts) for the final batch of Age of the Primes offerings.
Takara showed previews for:
Nexus limbs Alpha Bravo, Sky Guard and Breakaway. Takara will not be releasing G2 Wildrider as a standalone figure, he was available in an already released boxset.
Voyager Redecos/Retools Cybershark (TM2) and Guzzle (revealing a new headsculpt)

I’m presuming that Hasbro will reveal the final wave of Leaders (“Not-Shockwave” Prime and Machine Wars Starscream) during their NYCC panel on October 8.
