I mean, at this point I wouldn't be shocked that Hasbro is trying to make a commemorative G1 Optimus Prime of some sort with his face on the box.

That might finally get me to back one of these.
I very much doubt they'll make him a Haslab as they would want him to be a mainline figure, likely a commander class but if they do God Bomber and combined the two, it would likely be a titan class figure

I was introduced to Victory via a fan dub in the early 2000s that called Ginrai "Apex Prime," and I just assumed that was Ginrai's English name. That I saw this before Masterforce and didn't even realize Ginrai had once been a human piloting a mech didn't help.
So to this day I kinda default to "Apex Prime" as my preferred English name for Ginrai's sentient transtector post-MF. Even if I long ago learnt it's not official.
"Magnus Prime" doesn't work for me for a few reasons. One, it's too close to "Magnus Convoy," the name used for the inner robot of Delta Magnus.
Two... is Magnus Prime supposed to be Ultra Magnus as Prime? Why does he look like Optimus?
At least MF gave a reason for why Ginrai looked like Optimus and "Apex Prime" works both as a name for a character distinct from Optimus and Magnus, and ties into the Apex Armour.
I realize I'm overthinking this to a stupid degree, but also that's half of what we do here

Honestly, while I'm thrilled I was able to complete the Combaticons, I did a lot with Amazon points and even then I question the cost/value ratio. I have no worries letting my nephew borrow CW and POTP combiners but Bruticus isn't as user friendly, it reminds me of Fansproject on some level. I also got a Fallen, had to do fixes on him out of the box too. I'm seriously doubting getting more right now at all in these circumstances unless something really impresses me. I do plan to check out the new Thunderwing when it's shown, but I doubt I'll preorder anything, I'll want to see reviews first.
Only thing I might splurge on in the future with the frame nonsense is G2 Bruticus. At least then the arms clashing would be in-theme.

The leakage scuttlebutt is that the original plan was for Magnus Prime to be a Diaclone Powered Convoy-colored redeco of the TR Powermaster Optimus mold, but then Hasbro switched to the Legends Super Ginrai mold at the last minute once that retooled version of the mold became available for Hasbro to use. Early talk of the other two TR boxed sets that never came about would have featured some toy of Godbomber to go with Magnus Prime, but the info suggested it was an all-new Deluxe class mold (possibly meant to be compatible with the TR Powermaster Optimus version of the mold) named "Iron Apex" rather than the Leader-sized Legends Godbomber mold that Takara made on their own, but those plans never came to pass and nothing of this fabled Deluxe class "Iron Apex" Godbomber came to light. It's also not unreasonable to suggest that the plans for this new Deluxe mold were scrapped when the Legends Super Ginrai tooling became available and replaced the original plan of Magnus Prime using the TR Powermaster Optimus mold in Diaclone Powered Convoy colors (and possibly that "Iron Apex" may have also been planned to sport matching Powered Convoy colors to go along with his combination buddy).

One of the recent random "you don't follow this but here you go anyway" things the algorithm dumped on my feed is a post from a Transformers group I'm not even in, where someone seems to have sincerely asked whether others agree that Optimus Prime as a character should be retired forever now "out of respect" for Peter Cullen's passing.
And my reaction to that, a sort of sympathetic confusion, is the same one I have for this. Like, I get it, a loss this personal and impactful makes it tough to picture the future. But that outcome is just neither likely nor, really, necessary.
I want them to respect his passing by not monetizing the crap out of it. And I'm hoping that whatever they produce next doesn't turn into another Master Morpher situation where seemingly 99.7% of produced stock gets scalped out of existence.
There would be an odd parallel to Powernaster Op showing up after OP died originally, and after Peter Cullen died...

Yes and no. In canon he is, but practically he's the blue Optimus inside Delta Magnus. Hasbro even called it out with their SG Ultra Magnus, calling it a triple homage, with the inner robot working as Magna Convoy while the armoured up robot could be either SG Ultra Magnus or Delta Magnus. The Legends Manga even poked fun at it.
Like they're all based on the inner robot of the Diaclone Powered Convoy release, with PC being given the Delta Magnus name so... I donno. I don't think referring to Magna Convoy as the inner robot of Delta Magnus is wrong per se. If nothing else, it's shorthand that gets the point across.
Hopefully you got 86 Shockwave, he looks good on Bruticus's shoulder, it makes him stand out more
I did! I also added a radar dish and a hose extension from my parts bin to add a 'sight' and have him plug into the back of Bruticus like its a power supply. I have the Core Siege Shockwave and Viper for guns too. Bruticus got tricked out!
So I finally completed Bruticus...
... and I love him. This is my first go with a frame Combiner and while I don't really like the idea in principal, I can't argue with the results. He's very solid, he's hefty, he's big enough to be impressive but not so big he becomes unwieldy. My one nitpick is I think his combined gun is a bit weak but that's a very minor issue.
