Correct. They are selling the Zelda Switch 2 separately from the game.
That is a bummer. I wished that they would have at least included a code for the game or one of the other Zelda games.

Nintendo wants ALL of your money. That is a bummer. I wished that they would have at least included a code for the game or one of the other Zelda games.
Some observations I noticed:Japanese gameplay footage:
I might have considered if it included the game (or at least a coupon for one of the myriad of Zelda games on the Switch platforms), but I’m beyond the point of fussing over special editions like that. Unless Nintendo provides something to “Wow” me tomorrow, might skip the Switch 2 for another year. The special edition of the Switch 2 is already sold out on Target, Gamestop says Not Available, no listings on Amazon yet, and BestBuy says Coming Soon if you log in. I'd love to get one so TMM and I can stop fighting over the Switch 2, but the scalpers will probably get them first.
Forgot to check Nintendo directly. Ofc they're sold out as well
I was really hoping they might hang around for a while like the TotK Switch 1. I figured that might be unrealistic since we're so much earlier in the Switch 2's lifespan, but money's also a lot tighter for everybody these days, so I was hopeful. It wasn't so long ago that I was able to splurge and buy four different Zelda-themed 3DSes, and a second Switch 1 when TotK came out. But there's no way I'll be able to get a Switch 2 this year, and even next year was already going to be a struggle. I guess there's still a chance that this is just for the preorder quantity and there will be more after the actual release date, but I guess it's time to get used to the disappointment. The special edition of the Switch 2 is already sold out on Target, Gamestop says Not Available, no listings on Amazon yet, and BestBuy says Coming Soon if you log in. I just went ahead and used mine to get Wolverine cheaperI might get one from Best Buy if they ever open the pre-orders again. I have a ton of rewards points from them, this might be a good way to use them.
Funnily enough, that's basically what the Satellaview version of the first Zelda game is, titled "BS The Legend of Zelda" ("BS" meaning "Broadcast Satellite" for those unaware). A reimagined version of the first game's Hyrule with a smaller but similar layout, all new dungeons, and all done in updated SNES graphics. Even features the late great Seizo Kato as the first-ever voice actor for Ganon.I'd have preferred a return to 1980s Hyrule for the anniversary. Something that embraces that era's weirdness and pretends things never developed in a different direction. Almost a Missing Link... Link.
