Surely there are SOME concessions for different people to use the title given the fact that they operate in different regions.

Ever since Disney bought Star Wars, there's been one question everyone's been asking...

Well, the answer to that question, my friends...is NOW!

Star Wars and Marvel Comics are crossing over in a 5 issue miniseries! Coming in January 2027!

...Written by Kevin Smith. So, we'll probably get the first 2 issues in 2027. And issue 3 will probably be out in early 2029. And then...I think that's all we can reasonably expect before he wanders off to start another project he doesn't finish.

I kid, I kid....hopefully. He's gotten a lot better about finishing the miniseries he starts writing. This should be a lot of fun. And I'm wondering what kind of shenanigans they'll come up with to get the Marvel characters into the Star Wars Galaxy, or vice versa. Time travel AND space travel? A Incursion? Will they just be part of the same universe from the start?

It will just be a standard Marvel story with a small note at the beginning that Star Wars totally happened, but that it took place millions of years ago in a distant galaxy and doesn't really factor into the events at hand.

Finished watching the newest season of visions.

Pretty rough.

First episode was great. Stories like this is more of what I want to see from mainline Star Wars. Adventures in a weird, wild mysterious untamed land. I want it to feel like a combination of a samurai flick, a wester, and Mad Max.

Song of Four Wings wasn't particularly interesting.

Ninth Jedi was decent, but didn't really do a whole lot to make me excited for a whole series of this.

The Bounty Hunters was probably the second best. This one was fairly entertaining without a lot of down time.

Lost Ones had a fairy decent ending, but the first 3/4s really dragged.

The Smuggler was pretty dull as a whole.

The Bird of Paradise was probably the weakest and least interesting.

BLACK. Might be grade A if you watched it super high. Sober its got some neat animation in parts, but overall, overstays its welcome by about 8 minutes.

So I finally watched The Mandalorian and Grogu movie. I would have watched it sooner, but we lost a lot of electronics in a lightning strike and my living room electronics were part of it. We got those replaced last weekend, so this weekend we got some candy and popcorn, and sat down to watch this film. The new setup was great and we all enjoyed the film, even though the wife fell asleep at the end.

My thoughts:

Loved the opening action scene against the AT ATs, and I really liked seeing all the clone wars references that they put into this film. Jaba's kid being the same one form the Clone Wars film I saw in theaters 18 years ago was a nice touch. The Arena fight was pretty awesome too!

Loved seeing the new Razor crest, but honestly, it felt kind of weird that the new republic just confiscated it from an imperial and gives it to Mando. Also, he left it on his new home world and suddenly it's at the New Republic base at the end.

Loved the Dragon Snake and the Lion-wolf that the other bounty hunter had.

Also, why did Mando know a Droid gun runner? One Mando trusted enough to take Rotta to a safe location? Also, how come all that fire power, with the droid ships and turbo laser turrets, couldn't they shoot down the already shot down gun runner ship?

I do like how they get around all the killing by having the Hutts use droids.

My wife brought up that the person's hair was dry right after they get out of this watery pit, and I get to respond with the Harrison Ford ANH quote to Mark Hamill, "Hey kid, its not that kind of movie."

Spoiler free:

They like to talk about Star Trek Insurrection being like a long episode of the series, and that is exactly what this film is. It's an extension of the series, and pretty much a low-stakes adventure that you just sit back and enjoy. If you like the series, then this is more of it. If you are looking for an epic sci-fi film that affects the Star Wars universe, then this isn't it. Over all, I would give this film a solid 4 out of 5, only losing out that point due to it being a fun popcorn film without connecting to the rest of the series and a few plot holes.

I want to go see it again.

I'm unlikely to be able to cause time, money and Masters of the Universe coming up. But it was SO good and all the love for it on my feed really is making me wish I could go watch it one more time this weekend.

-ZacWilliam, all the special effects shine on the big screen, awesome monsters, Harryhausen vibes, and the film is just so damn fun.

Edit: Kept seeing folks posting these so just for fun I made one with my updated rankings. To be fair everything above #9 is a "Love" and everything below #9 is a "LIKE" there isn't a Star Wars I wouldn't watch. :)

Personally, I would rank them this way:

I would not include the Ewok films as they were more TV movies than anything else. Also, while it was a theatrical film, I didn't include the Clone Wars pilot film, as its ranking I can't determine without including the series into it, which unfairly makes the film better.

I know a lot of folks love Empire as the best SW film, but I just never felt that way. I didn't like it as much growing up as it doesn't have a happy ending like the other two films, so as a young kid it wasn't my favorite. I like it more as an adult, but I still like A New Hope more. In fact, until recently, I would have said that ROTJ is my favorite OT film. It has a better lightsaber fight, better space battles, great ground fighting, plot reveals, Vader just yeeting the emperor to his death, and the entire cast was great. These days, ANH just hits harder to me with it's hero's journey and establishing the universe.

Episode 3 was the best of the Prequels to me. The opening space battle was great, Obiwan vs Vader was the best light saber battle ever despite its ending, and this film is filled with tons of action.

Mando and Grogu was a great little romp with some good action and a lot of throw backs.

Episode 2 was great moment in films to me. I saw it in theaters three times with different groups of people. Jango was a great character and I loved the clones! Yoda's unexpected fight scene always got the crowds cheering! Christopher Lee does an amazing job in this film.

Rogue One had some great K2SO moments/lines, epic space battles, and that hallway scene. It was the best of the Disney era films until the most recent film took that title.

Solo gets a bad wrap, but for all its many flaws, it has some great moments. Han shooting first, the Kessel run, and meeting Chewie were great moments that make me enjoy this film.

I didn't like Episode 1 as much as I did Episode 2 and 3, but I honestly felt it wastes a lot of time with the pod racing and the gungans who are filling in for the Ewoks in this film as the native species army. Also Jar Jar, enough said. That being said though, Duel of the Fates is as epic as the light saber fight that they have. Maul is a great but silent villain.

The sequels. Man, such a waste. there is a picture that I think describes what went wrong here:

I turned to my wife in the theater as the credits were rolling for the Force Awakens and said, "I don't think I liked that." I knew even then that this wasn't going anywhere good. What we had was Disney pushing the old cast out of the way to have new characters that they could use again for future SW projects. Unfortunately, these films didn't launch these new characters but drug down the franchise to its lowest point since Gerorge Lucas' ex-wife took all his money after sleeping with her carpenter after ROTJ. If not for the Mandalorian, Star Wars would still be in that hole today.

Still, I think that I dislike Force Awakens the least. Harrison Ford does some great work here, the monster scene on his new ship was great, and seeing the new X-wings fighting was great. The whole Kylo killing him was greatly mishandled. I do love the resurgence class star destroyers.

The Rise of Skywalker was them trying to fix what they broke with The Last Jedi. It has some major flaws, like hand waving away Palpatine's return. Using Fortnite to announce his return was some weird cross marketing that really didn't reach as many people as they thought it would. Not loving the whole evil Rey thing, and the redemption of Kylo was just bad and out of nowhere. Like most other things, the sequel trilogy just does a poor job of rehashing the OT. There is a popular AI made scene where they make the ghosts of the jedi come out and fight Palpatine at the end, and I honestly prefer that ending. I did enjoy the aerial battle (not a space battle since the ships were in the atmosphere) at the end. Lando showing up with the massive civilian fleet was epic, and one of the best moments of the Disney era. Showing the truth of the galaxy that the EU had long pointed out, that there were thousands of worlds, all with their own fleets of defense ships and private ships. Showing them come together to fight their old enemy was great. Of course, they screw it up a few minutes later by having OP Palpatine just wreck an entire fleet from his throne room. They could have parodied the line from ROTJ and said that his fleet was lost and his plans would not survive. Ultimately, I feel like they should have split this film into two parts so they could tell a better version of the story. I mean, they were in no way bound to wrap up the sequel story with a third film. They should have taken the time and write up a decent story to tie up everything that they had done in the first two sequel films and give us something better.

The Last Jedi is the bottom of my list. It had so much bad in it that I just don't know where to begin. I try to block out all of it over the years, so instead I will write about the parts that I liked. The Throne room fight scene was great, and I loved the cool ships that they introduced. Mark Hammil was great as he could be given the script, and I really appreciate him trying to warn us before the film came out. I hate that we lost Carie Fisher to make this film.
