My problem with Di-Cast was mostly how when it connected to less-strong plastic, something had to give, and usually did for me. Also, I never had the paint stay on long-term. It's why when I was looking at the Chogokin Big O, I realized between the metal and the cost it wasn't for me, and I just got the Moderoid kit for my monster-city diorama shelf. Worked great! I did want the Chogokin MechaGodzilla for the same thing, except in that case it was entirely cost that made me skip it. It was nearly $350...amazing lightup effects, though.

Metal is to toys as live action is to film and television adaptations: A surface-level sense of pretention that only serves to illustrate a greater ignorance of what truly defines "quality", "prestige", and "maturity".

I see it more like Imax where they charge you extra for a superficially different experience.

I wanted to get the Kiryu but realized it’s not very posable and most importantly, doesn’t have an appropriately scaled Godzilla to go against.

I have the Kou Kyou Kyouku Godzilla that would probably have scaled perfectly, but like I said, $300+ didn't work for me. I got the Music Box Godzilla in clearance. It's still my favorite one, too bad the entire line ended at the one release. They teased a Shin Godzilla but it never came out.

Never collected Godzilla toys, but have always kind of wanted to get a few. Anyone have any experience with the Godziburst toys? The price is reasonable and the small size is actually about what I would want.

They’re okay. The smaller size and the release schedule means they can make all sorts of crazy variants but note that they’re the type of figure that are practically tiny statues. The most they can have is 6 PoA and the limbs are generally sculpted in specific angles, so it’s more of just adjustments to a predetermined pose, mostly in a standing at attention one. It’s all in favor of the mix-and-match gimmick that I don’t really care for.

I have a few Godziburst figures, and I will agree with unluckiness; they're nice little detailed figures, but poseability is pretty limited. I got the 2004 Gigan, who is basically locked into one pose that looks good, the 1968 Anguirus, which can actually do a couple different poses, and the Blizzard Godzilla that I haven't opened yet. I have them to display with some Super7 ReAction Godzilla figures, along with some Bandai figures in the 4" scale, and even some vintage Trendmasters 4" figures.

Why doesn't Optimus Prime just call the Wreckers for help? Is he stupid?

I was thinking about how a lot of Japanese songs have a lot of somewhat strange uses of English but you can usually tell what they were going for, especially when it's a complete sentence and not a word salad like "just wild beat communication".

But I still don't know what "we hope the only world" is actually supposed to mean.

After listening to Urashiman's "Midnight Submarine", I've learned sometimes you just have to concede these things will always be beyond one's understanding.

I always took it as a mistranslated way of meaning they (the song's singers, which I guess are meant to be the people of Earth) have hope for this one and only planet Earth that the Cybertrons are trying to save from the Destrons, no matter how difficult that challenge may be.

So, y'all remember that one Hasbro Q&A from June 2010 that said Dion never got rebuilt into anyone in "War Dawn" like how Orion Pax became Optimus Prime and Ariel became Elita One?

Well, I found out who it was who wrote that answer and why. It was Rik Alvarez, and he said that because he simply didn't like the idea of Dion being rebuilt into anyone.
