Pic 1 is definitely that specific translation episode and pic 6 is pretty general.

But what are pics 2 to 5? Pic 4 and 5 could be general too but the drink is pic 4 seems specific and also maybe the hand gesture in pic 5?

wonko the sane?

You may test that assumption at your convinience.

Pic 2 is the bajorans beating the cardassians and evicting them from their planet. Pic 3 is the episode of voyager when they used the hirogen array to send the doc to the alpha quadrant... and the subsequent charlie foxtrot. Grand theft starship and a romulan plot. It was fun.

4 and 5 are literally just people treating obvious others as actual people and trying to befriend them rather than avoiding them.

And yes, 6 is so generic it's literally the entire second half of voyager.

So I watched the first episode of academy. Paul Giamony was a great choice for the villain and he is just eating up the scene with every bit of dialog he has. Not liking the Federation cast that much, especially the commander. She just gets on my nerves, and I hope that they tone down her oddities going forward. Also, Kimmy the Klingon/Jem Hadar hybrid is a neat aide and she does a decent job at it, but I just hear her doing the same voice from Bob Hearts Abishola. So it's kind of like when Ultron sounded too much like Raymond Reddington, and it just takes me out of the scene a bit.

Still don't like the whole Programmable matter mess, don't like that the ship comes apart to turn into a building. Why can't it just dock? Like the Klingon doctor, and I love that the EMH is there trying to promote the Opera club. :) Don't know how I feel about the others yet.

Oh, I should have realized 2 was the finale. And that 3 was the Doctor, haha. Thanks for figuring it out.

It's NOT the finale. It's the run up to the series, literally days before the provisional government asks the federation to run the space side infrastructure (and they only did that to ensure the spoonheads wouldn't try again.) in their eventual bid to enter the federation.

Honestly, at first glance seeing it on mobile, I saw the big Federation ship, the Romulan warbirds and thought of the Enterprise-C.

It's a Star Trek Prodigy game and it has two player co op. Have you guys played it? Is it worth playing?

It seems to be a brawler. Wouldn't Trek be more tactical?

I'm trying to convince my friend to play it next over Lego Batman.

Brawler, yes. She's melee he's range. Some co-op puzzles. Stages require re-visiting when rescued crew members for completion. Toys came with codes for bonuses (NOT DLC, every Dal had the same code, every G'Wen had the same code, etc) can be looked up. Not a difficult completion for achievments/trophies.

You want a Star Trek game that can Star Trek? "Star Trek: Resurgence".

So I watched the Betazoid episode of Academy. It was nice, and I loved the plot twist at the end with their negotiations. Loved seeing the humpback whales again.

Why did Guinan and Pelia live on Earth? Maybe they had some tech to use in secret, but wouldn't they have been more comfortable somewhere else?

Why would they need sign language though? They can read minds...
That was... odd.... On one hand, they clearly hadn't forgotten that Betazoids were telepathic, but they sure seemed to limit those abilities beyond anything previously seen. My head-retcon is that the ability atrophied over the previous 7-800 years (which, of course, would be in contrast to how telepathic abilities usually seem to develop in Trek) so that only a few Betazoids had the full capacity previously seen in Lwaxana Troi (who was fairly explicitly considered typical of her race, rather than an outlier).

Maybe the results of centuries of cross-breeding with non-telepaths, such that more of them were like Counselor Troi than were like Lwaxana?

I think Troi only had empathic abilities due to being half human, right? The leader of the Betezoids seemed "pure" to me.

If, by that, you mean that Troi had only empathic abilities (as opposed to full telepathy) due to being half human, that's exactly right, and is exactly the point.

As to the purity of the leader... well, that's where the retcon comes in. Nothing was EVER stated to suggest he or any other Betazoid was less than full Betazoid, but most of them didn't act like full telepaths. Even Tarima, who was explicitly stated to have exceptional telepathic abilities, didn't seem to use them to read minds (other than her boyfriend's) all that much. The retcon that Betazoids might not actually be "full-blooded" anymore could explain that.

Thoughts on Star Trek Strange New Worlds season 4 episode 1 Valles Marineris (spoilers spaced)

That was a fun-ish episode, for people who know general story narratives. Enjoyable is you know your plot progression stuff. My advice is not to speculate or overthink and you'll have fun.

Effects-wise, for the centerpiece... it was ok. Someone else did it better, hehe

Oh, I totally thought one character was someone else, gosh dang it! I thought the lifespan would match, haha

T'Pol? Hahaha

I liked the Martian lady. Shame about what happened. Who was the actress? She was cool.

Kirk would have been more convincing, thereby dooming the supposed human race so he would have to populate it himself. Kidding, haha

What was up with the raptor getting punched? I thought it was an alien from the ship.

Gross insects.

What's next for Una?

Eye roll on the Scotty Ortegas rivalry. Please don't be enemies to lovers, haha.

Liked that little Widower part.

Well, until Nemesis decided she DID have full abilities so we can hate the bad guy by having his Reman predator help Shinzon mind rape her and be the deus ex machina to save the day.
