So have you ever gone through the toy isle and saw something and it's like "no, I already have a few dozen versions of that same character already." So you don't get it. Then a couple weeks later you're going through the toy isle and it's like "no, I already have a few dozen versions of that same character already." So you don't get it. Then a couple weeks later you're going through the toy isle and it's like "no, I already have a few dozen versions of that same character already." So you don't get it. And then a couple weeks later....
Alright, so hold onto your butts!
Shortly after the wii launch, I was in an independent game store (oh for the days when those actually existed...) in montreal, and I saw a metroid lunch box full of wii mote covers and such. Some promotional thing I guess, I didn't really follow metroid. And I knew I was going to get it. Was sure of that more than anything else in my life. But I didn't buy it. Too expensive.
And I had the exact same thought and feeling every single time of the coming years I visited the store, as that lunch box sat on the top shelf opposite the till...
Finally, more than a decade later; AS THE STORE WAS LIQUIDATING FOR FINAL CLOSURE... I bought it at 75% off.
Still got it too. The wiimote covers and things went with all the old console stuff last year... but I kept the lunchbox. Cause it was awesome.
