Is there a reference I'm missing with the rubber chicken? I mean, awesome, but is that a deep cut for Stranger Things or era-appropriate rock or whatever?

Edit: huh. Okay, apparently it's been a ST production team inside joke for a while.

wonko the sane?

You may test that assumption at your convinience.

I mean... it might be, MAYBE, be a weird al reference? He was pretty much at the height of his career during the time period of the show.

. . .Have any of these collaborations ever been repainted or remolded?
No, but I can dream.

Apparently the radio station the fan is advertising has a rubber chicken as a mascot? I donno. I don't watch the show.

But this figure looks awesome.

I don't believe so, but some have been repaints and remolds of existing TF molds.

I'd think at the very least, they could reuse the engineering and some parts for Soundwave, who was a different kind of van, anyway.

I don't know anything about Stranger Things
I don't watch the show.
Highly recommended. It's really good. And I say that both regardless of it being an unabashed love letter to the 1980s and as one who is not at all a fan of the horror genre (which, thankfully for me, it's neither graphic violence nor sheer terrifying horror).

Thanks for the recommendation. I love 80s horror so it should be fun.

The 80s are a weird decade for me. I was born in '87, so I have few firm memories from the decade. But I've always dug 80s aesthetics and music so... I'll probably love it.

I don't need this to be a Stranger Things Collab, but I need this to be a Transformer I own. This thing looks awesome!
Seconded! I might actually be tempted to pick up a collaboration figure again.

I'll say this about Stranger Things: it's a horror series. It's not necessarily scary, but it is not afraid of burtalizing innocent people.

As for repaints/remolds

Ectotron is the only one who got a redeco I think, and that was just for and older, dirtier version of teh Ecto-1 and a new head sculpt. I don't think there's been one that's gotten retooled/redeco'd into a non-collaborative figure, though.

Though a whole crapton of them are retools or redecos of existing figures, but I don't think that's what being asked.

Ectoron I believe is a retrool of CW Hotspot/Onslaught

Gigawalt is a retool of WFC Sideswipe

Its only been in the last year that the crossover figures have been new molds I believe, at least the current generation of crossover figures

I want them to do a Viking Van Soundwave, like that one igniter's toy:

Part of me would love it more as an SG Soundwave as that's totally his personality there, but either works.
