I might grab a Wheelie. Still using the Takara deco of the Titans Return mold and he’a looking super tiny. I’d paint the face or at least the eyes though.

About $36 per.

Which is why I need y'all to talk me out of getting Outback!

Character libel is not allowed!

Go!

Wheelie, I'm torn on. I had the original toy as a kid, but these eyes... these eyes haunt me. 🙀

You should get Outback.

Yeah, I didn't think I'd have a toy/cartoon preference either way for Wheelie, but most of my exposure to the character IS the Movie and season 3. And the way they did the eyes, especially in this deco, does that face no favors. (I kinda felt the same "I can buy either one" with Seaspray, but now I can't unsee that dead, empty visor. The TR one at least had a narrower one that was less unintentionally-creeoy.)

So I may wait for this to be redone?

Then again, it's so hard to really tell what this brand's going to do with these releases. Sure, reusing tooling, especially brand new tooling like this, seems like such a no-brainer ordinarily. But especially with exclusive initial releases, and having to find a window amidst their flood of everything else, it's not as predictable as one might hope.

I expect we'll see a cartoon redeco for Wheelie eventually. He's one of the TFTM-original characters, and there's a substantial difference in deco. This certainly seems like a case of getting the less-popular deco out first to try to maximize sales. That, along with the fact that I'm satisfied enough with the SS86 Core figure, makes him an easy pass for me.

Outback, on the other hand, would be pretty surprising to see get a redeco. He's certainly less... I'm really not sure if popular is the right word, so let's go with ubiquitous. But more significantly, his character model skewed so closely to the G1 toy that there's nothing to make more cartoon-accurate. It even includes his sticker details! The only really significant difference between them is whether his visor is blue or silver, and this release is already using the cartoon blue. What else would they do differently?

Make him a straight Retro Brawn repaint as Mexican Outback?

Of these two that's the one I'm getting, may wait on a different Wheelie.

Which is odd because I'm also eyeing the Brawn over the Seaspray (although it's closer between those two).

Wheelie say "I have looked into the dark cold abyss with my dead eyes and see in it the reflection of lifelessness that we all in the end succumb to-"

*what we hear due to his speech impairment*

"-find friend today!"

Maybe he's a preview of the new Transformers X WH40K crossover and he's an Astropath? Scare-Glow looks like a Necron...
