Trump supporters not only say stupid things, but whenever they're caught saying something stupid, they are never embarrassed, now matter how stupid it is. And their allies are not embarrassed either. Can you imagine if Joe Biden had said something this stupid? We'd never hear the end of it! But nothing happens when Trump supporters say something blindingly stupid, because the Trump movement is not embarrassed about its own stupidity.

The Trump movement is not just the triumph of a group of stupid people: it's the triumph of stupidity itself. It is a horrifying moment in history when stupidity won a popularity contest over intelligence.

Because it's not stupid; it's lies that can be written off as stupidity by the press but will be believed 100% by the cult, and that's by design.

I saw this on a Facebook reel just a few minutes ago!

It is one thing that she has really no idea what habeas corpus means. That's not unusual in the general public, though it is odd for a governor or congressman, and really strange for a Secretary of Homeland Security when the issue is being discussed daily. That's the upfront weirdness of it. That's weird ignorance and it is funny how confidently she just bluffs her way through it.

But what is maybe more troubling is that she thinks the United States Constitution gives Rights to the President. That's a fundamental misunderstanding of how all of this works.

Not that surprising given who hired her....

Here's my question. Is she truly this stupid and doesn't know or was this another in a long series of acts designed to give the propagandists something to play over and over to their supporters? If they just hear her part and not the talking heads part where they laugh at her, how long till this is an acceptable definition amongst the idiots in the right wing sphere of influence?

I don't think they need video for that. I don't think she would be willing to tell a Senator in testimony with CSpan cameras on that something that can be googled means its opposite just to give the Administration a soundbyte. No one in government intentionally exposes themselves to the charge of being ignorant of basic facts.

Except that Trump's admin does it daily.

I'm not talking about how they lie about what was done or said or what they intend to do or what someone else intends to do. I'm talking about publicly saying things that can just be looked up in the dictionary.

You're acting like 1) they're base either knows how to use a dictionary or even cares to pick one up and 2) they don't just dismiss it as bias or lies whenever the news media and/or Democrats correct what a particular Trumpian says.

That moron invited the President of South Africa to the White House so he could publicly confront him about a conspiracy theory and tell him what is happening in South Africa.

Assuming that 47 wasn't delusional, and that he was actually correct about what was going on in South Africa (and that the SA government was hiding it, as is the contention), I'm not sure what else he would have been expected to do....

I mean, there's plenty about 47 that's moronic and worthy of criticism, especially vis-a-vis his South African policy, but inviting the SA President to the WH to confront him doesn't seem like one of those things....

It is. In response, the President of South Africa said that he was sorry he didn't have a plane he could just give Trump. Trump responded by saying he'd accept a plane from him. Add sarcasm to the list of things Trump doesn't understand.
