The most terrifying thing for a close-minded parent is the idea that your child will be exposed to information that you don't control and develop opinions you don't share; as such, any popular thing amongst children will get scrutinized for being a "corruptive" influence.

In my own childhood I saw videogames, pokemon, pogs, power rangers and more get targeted. In the past it was D&D, or comic books, or penny dreadfuls.

If it's a popular thing amongst kids, a contigent of adults will be afraid it represents the downfall of modern civilization. It also leads to stuff like the Comics Code Authority, or the ESRB ratings, as industries that are popular with kids try to self regulate to avoid scrutiny.

I saw those pictures the other day and honestly I feel like it looks better in hand than the stock pictures implied.

It actually convinced me to order it off Amazon, I should have mine tomorrow.

Got him! I got to say, it's really nice. Like it's extremely play pattern forward. But there's a LOT of play pattern. And it's got a really solid in hand feel. Sometimes the 'kid' lines feel like it's flimsy plastic, or poorly painted or just shoddy. Not here. He's a CHUNK.

The red, black and gold on him is all painted on - and heavy. Matte. No plastic showing through cause they skimped on the coats. Gimmicks all work well. Automorph (waist rotates around and head springs up), clamping dino jaw that snaps backs into place, spinning tri-barrel gun on his other arm spins nice, has a good ratchet sound and has 5 mm pegs to attach things to. Mech mode chest cavity kind of 'cages in' a figure. Will fit a small deluxe or Core class. Ports and pegs GALORE. Dino head and gun can detach and combine into a weapon platform/battle sled.

He's honestly the closest thing to an Armada toy I've handled since Armada. I'm all in on the line. I'm bowled over.

r any of these toys even on store shelves yet
Grimlock had cropped up on Amazon several weeks ago from their Amazon Global UK store at an inflated price, but available for shipping. I’m assuming some are coming from THAT. But, as Virion just post posted, Amazon is getting their stuff in early (Nothing new, they’re already getting fall Star Wars kids stuff in).
Update: Yes, Amazon US DOES have Cyberworld Grimlock in stock right now. Pricing is $29.99, which, IIRC, is $5 higher than his original SRP Hasbro toted at Toy Fair. Bumblebee is listed as “Temporarily Out of Stock” which makes me think he might have been available as well, at some point. The basic Cyberchangers are all still listed as “Unavailable”.

Official release “date” is July, though I suspect Walmart may have it out early due to a pair of retailer exclusives (CyberChanger Mirage and Ultimate CyberChanger Megatron). Most others might not roll the line out until the fall/Christmas sets in July/August.
