I'd call Little Kitty, Big City the better game on a macro scale (the fact that Stray pulls a WALL-E by turning into a game that's more about the "people" than the cat made it feel like a bait and switch), but I missed the polish that Stray has. Its cat is a lot less janky to control, has actually good IK, doesn't clip through stuff nearly as much, etc. Made me wish the two dev teams had just merged and made a single game.

I'm in no rush, taxes or not. I'll wait until there's at least a few MUST HAVE games that won't be available on the old Switch. Might even wait to see if they make a smaller/more handheld version, I love the size of the Switch Lite.

Outside of the new Mario Kart, there's nothing I've seen that says 'buy me' that isn't available on the PC or on the OG switch. I can wait.(Can't justify $400+ for a single game)

Personally, I kind of want to try to wait until the inevitable mid-generation refresh that they'll probably release. Because every gaming company is putting out some sort of upgraded version of their machine a few years into it's life-cycle.

Like the song says, never buy a modern gaming console at launch.

(Man...the Ouya...that brings me back. You could probably put the Stadia in it's place, though even that's probably faded from people's memories by now.)

I had a relatively painless preorder in person at GameStop. Didn't even have to show up too early. I was there about 45 minutes before opening and was 19th in line. The only thing I missed out on was the Pro Controller, but as of the time of this post, Target still has some available, so I grabbed one there. I grabbed the Mario Kart bundle as well as Street Fighter. Also preordered Capcom Fighting Collection 2 while I was at it.

Turns out I probably could have done that, but past experiences told me to take no chances, so we were there at 6am, four hours before they opened.

Fortunately, they opened up half an hour earlier, probably due to the line getting in the way of retail doorways...

I benefit from living near the smallest town in Maine that actually has things like GameStop. Combine that with there being a couple GameStops in areas surrounding me that would be far more likely to get people from areas without Gamestops, and it not being vacation season, basically no one was here to wait in line.

My closest Gamestop is over 45 minutes away, in big cities, and I can't drive.

Gamestop was a non starter for me. Fortantly it seems I got walmart and best buy.
