He wants to go to jail to rile up his supporters, but I think he's going to find that being incarcerated is more uncomfortable than he thinks it is. Let him spend a couple of nights there and then we'll see how cocky he is.

Which is why I brought up the concept of NOT putting him in general prison. Like in an FBI safe house under house arrest, or maybe a secret service detainment cell. I'm sure that once they were actually intent on doing it, it would happen fairly quickly and easily.
You're suggesting that makes a difference. I don't think it does. Certainly not the way you keep asserting.

You may test that assumption at your convinience.

Okay: why doesn't it make a difference? Because the big part of it, to my understanding, is that dumping trump into a large state or federal facility is his security, the presence of the secret services and the requirements of moving trump around.

Put him in a prison the secret service outright controls: logistics problems evaporate because there is no overlap to his security and other inmates and the disrupt cause by trump being there.

Thing is, if he goes to a public prison, his cult will rally around it and cause problems; but if he goes to some hidden Secret Service safe house, it becomes some giant conspiracy and they riot anyway. There's no way out of this clusterfuck that doesn't end in violence, because nobody stopped him eight or nine years ago before the cult gained momentum. And nobody wants to be the one to pull the trigger on that.

Unfortunately for anyone who wants to believe in the actual rule of law, doing nothing is also making it worse, because it puts on display just how much the system is slanted in favor of the famous and influential.

It's functionally a lose/lose scenario for... well, civilization, in general. They're either exposing the lie about social treatment for the rich, or they're triggering fascist riots over a fascist getting exactly what the law demands happens.

Either way: you're showing just how bad things actually are.

Does anyone else think it's interesting that Donald Trump had sex with a pornstar in the most boring conventional (missionary) position?

Look, I'm not the sort of guy who's going to have a one-night stand with a porn star. But if I were that kind of guy, I assume I would want to do porn-type things with her.

I guess I'm surmising that his boring choice of sexual activity means he didn't want her to act like a porn star. Therefore, I suspect his fantasy was not about porn: it was about something much more disturbing. And given his remarks about Stormy looking like Ivanka, I suspect he wanted to imagine what sex with his daughter might be like. Exotic porn-type sex would have actually ruined the illusion for him.

Given his physical condition even at the time, anything more strenuous probably would've given him a heart attack.

Having an affair with a pornstar sounds like an adventure to a lot of people.

But that isn't Donald Trump. He's a billionaire that could be dining in Michelin restaurants in Europe, living in a palace, collecting Ferraris, vacationing in the Mediterranean in a yacht. But he eats McDonalds, lives on a golf course, and spends his time watching TV and truthing. When he travels it is to stand on stage at a rally. He isn't looking for adventure. He's looking for validation. He doesn't crave anything fancy. He just wants to remind himself that because he is rich and famous, women will sleep with him. So he matters.

If he's a convicted felon, he shouldn't get Secret Service protection anymore, former president or not. From the moment of his conviction to the moment he reaches whichever federal facility they throw his ass in, he's under the protection of the US Marshal service. After that, treat him like any other convict.

I am sure if he gets time, it will be house arrest. It isn't fair, but honestly that's what guys like him that weren't President get.

What if losing the Secret Service protection was his sentence. Just that. He still gets to do whatever he wants, but with the ever-present risk that anyone, anywhere, could make the consequences happen for him that the state can't be bothered to.

It might be worth it just to see if it scares him into hiding or not.

I don't think it would scare him at all.

You really just don't hear about the gun-toting radical left winger very often. But he doesn't really believe anyone would want to hurt him.

And he could easily find a bunch of MAGAts who'd happily sign up to be his personal SS* for free, and not because they know he won't pay them.

*Secret Service, of course. What did you think I meant?

Maybe Ivanka could commission a lookalike brand?

He's a billionaire
Allegedly. I don't remember who it was (I know it wasn't Mark Cuban, but that's the only name my brain is willing to come up with atm), but I heard an actual billionaire make the case that by spending roughly $20 million a year a person can convincingly act like a billionaire, and if there's one thing Trump can do instinctively, it's run a con.
