Conspiracy lunatic thread - people who believe in absurd nonsense are dangerous

Considering some MAGAs seriously believe JFK is still alive at age 105, I don't think age is going to stop Hitler.

Conspiracy theories flourish in areas of ignorance. When the conspirators are no longer capable of performing basic math, or understanding basic biology: even age won't stop it. Besides, they also think these same people are eating ******* babies in satanic rituals to extend their lives.

There is no way to kill a conspiracy theory as long as people are willing to believe it. And people will always be willing to believe things that remove accountability, guilt, responsibility or other negative feelings from them. At this point they're a panacea for the ignorant. A way to say, 'it's not my fault, it's *insert something here*'

Always remember that what can be asserted without evidence can also be dismissed without evidence. But don't expect the adherents to follow you. They're comfortable in their little bubble. It makes them feel good.

The interesting thing will be seeing what happens to Truth Social when Trump and all the other people who were exiled there are invited back. Will it be shut down, leaving yet another failed investment in Trump's portfolio? Will Musk do the Musk-iest possible thing and offer to buy it out, merging its entire database into Twitter's own?

Trump's ego for having his own platform, or Trump's attention obsession for the wider audience. Which will win out?

A) It makes them just like those action movie stars! They're the hero! Everyone else is dumb NPCs who can't see the truth like them because they're so special and smart! I mean TV doesn't lie, right?
B) The thought that the other adults in the room can't control everything scares the ever-living crap out of them, so rather than believing the world is a result of random chance, anything bad must be a plot. After all, if you haven't done anything wrong, nothing bad should happen to you, unless someone else causes it to happen.
C) The devil is everywhere, and they must be ever-vigilant to stop his advance, and anything the pastor says is not godly MUST be the devil. He speaks for God after all, and isn't just another fallible man.
D) That's what I'D do if I was in charge!

Take your pick.

Except, there IS malice and intent behind the suffering of the people. Billionaires and their politicals lickspittles desperately want to rebuild the slave states of old, and are conciously and deliberately choosing suffering to ensure it happens.

So every little thing that can go wrong is deliberately billionaire's fauilt? They would intentionally not pay for internet upgrades for years and pocket the cash because they want to cause suffering, and not because it just happens to make them richer? Bezos works his people to death because he wants to hurt them intentionally, and not because he only sees them as replacable cogs that aren't even human and take money away from making him richer?

Yes a lot of them would legally like to have slave states back, but to them they probably feel like they're already in one. Jail labor, wage slavery, etc already gives them the benefits without having to actually house and feed their "slaves" - outsource and let the rest of society handle it. But, again, Zuckerman does not go out of his way to hurt John Smith in Tallahassee Florida - the man only exists as numbers to him.

Yes, there's issues with Billionaires. Are they in a conspiracy to control the government? No, their "unenlightened" self-interest just happens to line up and converge in such a way that it seems like they're doing it intentionally. I hate to say this, but those on the left can convince themselves just as easily of conspiracies as the right if they let themselves... politics does not exclude one from following their biases and looking for patterns where there may not be any. Hell, like we've been talking about, Musk is a living example of Hanlon's Razor: Theoretically you could attribute his faffing about to a masterminded 5D chess plot to bring down Twitter because it was a strong organization point for leftists(compared to other social media) and by taking Twitter's reputation and usability it leaves primarily right-wing sites left. But as we saw from his text messages during the lawsuit and his tweets and actions since, he literally has no idea WTF he's doing and his tanking twitter is due to incompetency, not malice.

While we do need to watch the rich and what they're doing and fight back etc, we should be wary to not fall into the same traps that the "other side" does.

The same kind of thinking that leads to "everything is God's plan".

But whether it's supernatural forces or a human conspiracy, how is "someone powerful is making you suffer on purpose" less scary than "shit happens"?

They're not deliberately choosing suffering. They're choosing whatever makes them the most money in the shortest time. The suffering is a side effect that most of them just don't care about. They don't give the lower class enough thought to really care about it.

Every little thing? Naw, of course not.

The majority of suffering caused by lack of resources? Wage Stagnation? Literally buying politicians to control policy? Absolutely. And they KNOW their choices and actions (or lack of actions.) are causing deliberate suffering: unnecessary stress, starvations, homelessness, the diseases that come with all of that AND the lack of access to basic medical care.

Christ: It's literally that ******* spiderman meme; I don't want to cure cancer, I want to turn people into dinosaurs. The hoarding of resources, and the systematic quashing of human rights and dignity is pushing back the plight of the comman by centuries. And there doesn't need to be a conspiracy around everyone in position to do so choosing to go for self, and being so rich that psychopathy looks fashionable.

And to mollusk: Yeah, they actually DO care about the suffering, and ensuring it's always there. Hell, there was recently a bit on the news about how the fed wanted to drive up unemployment to ensure wages stayed low. The suffering is the point.

But that's not conspiracy, it's convergent behavior.
Semantics. Powerful people (billionaires) are working hand-in-hand with other powerful people (the government) to further erode our rights for their mutual benefit. That's close enough to a conspiracy to me.

And how about the Actual Pedophile Cabal that Epstein was a part of, and who continue to have the power to shield (most of) their own from consequences? Y'all have to admit that it's spooky that there's that much overlap between people who want to have sex with kids, or are at least OK with their colleagues doing so, and people who have the power to make themselves untouchable to a degree the Mafia can only dream of, right?

Pundit Matt Walsh is fond of exaggeration and twisting the truth, but on Monday night’s The Joe Rogan Experience podcast, he told a whopper so big that even the host called bullshit. He claimed that millions of American children had been put on hormone blockers.

But when Rogan’s producer weighed in with a fact check that proved Walsh was lying, the Daily Wire host was forced to admit that he had made it up.

But it was said, and that's when the nutjobs stopped listening, because it gave them something to be mad about and that's all they really wanted.
