The ghost of Magnus Hirschfeld might have a few things to educate J.K. Rowling about that.

We really should've taken it as a bigger red flag that the first actual fight the "Harry Potter" kids have in Sorcerers' Stone is against a giant hideous creature that forces its way into the girls' bathroom.

Not surprised she is confusing gender expression and culture. Trans people, outside of the non-binary and genderfluid ones, generally take on the gender norms of the culture they live in, so a trans person's dress and mannerisms will vary from region to region. The universal aspect being a deep seeded desire to physically be closer to the gender their brain is set to instead of the physical characteristics they ended up with. Not really surprising that she doesn't understand. I don't really expect anyone who hasn't lived the experience to truly understand what it's like. I do expect them to understand that they don't understand, though.

The UK government are going to “Section 28”* trans people. And cut down on a lot of eduction about sex and relationship issues. Unfortunately not surprising, seeing how rabidly transphobic even Britain’s supposedly ‘liberal’ media is.

* no, not the United Federation of Planets’ secret police. S28 was a law introduced by Thatcher government (later repealed by Blair) that banned schools from acknowledging the existence of LGBT people other than in the negative sense.

At the time, Christian organizations criticized him for “failing to stand by Christian principles.” Shanon McGinley of the state conservative think tank Cornerstone Action said in response to the protections in 2018, "We MUST strengthen the Christian base of the NH legislature to improve our chance of winning critical votes in the next legislative session.”
these sorts of christians deserve to be as persecuted as they delusionally claim they are tbh

When you love hating trans people but don't want to deal with all of the baggage that comes with Christianity.
