I do like that the lesson is just an endorsement of caffeine. Gotta hook the kids early.

It took me way too long to remember that I shouldn't be surprised to see someone other than Cocoa serving drinks.

That sitting pose hurts.

That cart must not weigh much if tail hair can move it.

That sploit sound. This show really is Tales 2.0.

I'm actually not wondering how this situation came about. It doesn't seem all that remarkable.

Did the animation get a slight bump?

Sploit.

This is actually quite boring.

Sometimes it's good to be lucky.

Bailey's encroaching on Cocoa's turf! Bailey agreed to stay on the beach! The town square is Cocoa's domain! This means refreshment war!

Is someone going to slip on the banana smoothie? Because that would almost be a clever twist on the old gag.

Bananas and Cocoa. That actually sounds pretty good.

"I bet you're wondering how THIS happened" I mean...sometimes people just trip, Cocoa. Not everything has to be a flashback with a 5 minute long backstory.

Bailey is interested in a non-surfing based sport?! Is this...character growth?!

I don't know how this helps her train, since they're just playing catch with the volleyball. Unless there's a version of the game that doesn't use a net?

Ouch, sand in the eye. No fun.

Lucky Hooves. I guess Hasbro owns the terms "Hooficures" already?

Pearla's leaving before the shenanigans start. She knows what's up.

"You never miss the cupcake catch" Which is doubly impressive with hooves!

Cocoa also sells cupcakes. She's a mare of many talents.

They put effort into that hoppy walk cycle.

I mean, technically, they never said is was GOOD Luck Polish.

*Bailey trying to move her cart on the beach* Well, this could be easily taken out of context.

Well, that's a look that says Bailey's going to be paying for all those drinks she smashed. Or else!

Well, that Thesaurus Book Club is really paying off!

Pearla giveth the Hoof Polish and Pearla can taketh it away!

I mean, this was Candi's Lucky Hoof Polish. They're clearly only good if you want to make interesting internet videos. They're used for epic fails for compilation videos, obviously.

So, the moral of the story is...I don't know, don't get your nails done?

This was a dull episode but I swear some of the animation was more fluid than usual.

The biggest problem remains that this town just isn't an interesting place. These characters have nothing interesting going on in their lives.

Okay so that's Dreamer. I'm learning.
How did no one else notice the giant sandwich?
Sorry no wings. Copyrights.
Okay wishing to no longer fly shouldn't freeze you like that. It doesn't make sense even twisted wish logic.
Ah the "It was all a dream" trope.
If we actually get her being a secret Genie, I'd give this show props, but I'm pretty sure we'll never see that again.

I'm bored. I hope this is good.

Huh? Horse bot cannot fly.

This time I actually am wondering.

Horses do sneeze very hard. You don't want to be in the way.

So you just have a magic lamp lying around any you never- DREAMER?

Oh. They just didn't have the budget for a new character model.

Really? That's your wish?

At least this isn't a jerk genie. No pressure on the remaining wishes.

No one in this town has any ambition. It really explains the state of things. But how did they get this way?

Fair. Flying is a good one. I'd go with telekinesis though. That's always been my favorite in my dreams.

The ears are waking up.

Okay maybe this is a jerk genie.

They're all taking this rather well.

This is beyond jerk genie now. This is not even a jerkish interpretation of the wish. This side effect is just completely made up.

... No.

Huh?

Dreamer what are you up to? What is going on?

Either this will never be mentioned again, or this show's getting weird.

I hope it's getting weird.

Magic?! In THIS horse show?! I don't know. Magic and talking horses...I'm just not sure if those two things go together or not.

*Cocoa floating in mid air* This is what happens when you let the animators get bored.

Somebody had a Red Bull.

"Horses don't fly" Somewhere, Rainbow Dash just felt insulted and isn't sure why.

This is the face of a consummate professional. Even hovering several feet in the air, she STILL makes sure we get the flashback we need.

That sneeze almost sent her flying with no magic required. Unless that was magic pixie dust or something.

Rapunzel's Hairbrush, the Holy Grail, the Fan of Princess Iron Fan...bunch of worthless junk.

"Dreamer what are you doing in my lamp? We've talked about this, you can't do that before noon."

Gertie...so this is a dream, right? Either that or the animators just cannot be bothered to even put a different hat on a new character.

Oh no a Genie-in-Training? That's even worse than a normal genie! At least when a full Genie twists your wish against your will they do it with style!

Amateur move. Never wish for food on the first wish. It's just a waste of magical power. And it's usually stale.

Also, the sandwich is on the floor. Does the 5 second rule count when most of the food isn't touching the ground?

I mean, if she was REALLY "very good" I feel like she'd be a fully licensed genie. Unless she just doesn't want to pay the $500 for the test taking fee. That I could understand. It's such a scam.

Another amateur move. Don't ask the most indecisive horse in town about her opinion on abstract topics.

"Not very original" It kinda is in this town, though.

Too bad you didn't ask to fly...well.

Genies, man. Genies are trolls. Genies are the problem.

Puma-horse...she flies like a moron!

They never bring out the handbook until the third wish.

Oh...oh this is living nightmare. Trapped in a pose, unable to move.

Yup, it was a dream. Called it! We can't have MAGIC in our horse show. Pfft. The very idea.

"Okay, next time, I'm keeping my "special sleepytime brownies" to myself"

Oh, great, you've unleashed the Necronomicon into your world. Luckily, this town is so boring, even a cursed magic book doesn't want to hang around for long.

Dreamer is magic. Or something. I don't know. I guess Dreamer could have a connection to the Cognitive Realm or Astral Plane. That would almost make sense. Why not?

I like Dreamer. She's weird, and this show has been needing some weirdness. They're probably not going anywhere with this, but I hope they're going somewhere with this. I want more.

*static crackle*

Who?

She does a lot for this town and I don't know if I've ever seen her.

Who's assigning these points?

Caffeine, Candi. Caffeine.

Don't puff your cheeks out when playing a brass instrument. Rookie mistake.

Oh. That must be Perla. I've seen her before.

Yes, Cocoa. You're obviously the future alicorn here.

Still not my genre, but there's no denying they put extra effort into this song.

So that one *static crackle* opening wasn't a one-off. I was hoping that would replace the "I bet you're wondering" opening, and my hope is renewed.

"Always and Forever" Oh, I hope that doesn't become ironic.

Friendship Points. Big Sister is watching you and judging just how good you friend each other.

Is Candi in charge of running EVERY big event in this town? Is she basically the mayor, at this point?

"Are you guys ready for the big event today?" There's literally nothing else to do in this town, so sure!

One of these days, Finley's going to snap, and it's going to be something to see.

Pearla always brings free donuts for everyone. Easy win.

Yes, THE POWER! Just imagine the POWER of being crowned the ruler of a local carnival would grant you! Churros! Rides! All the stuffed animals you could ever desire!

So...do you have to download a special app or do they just text you how many points you got? Honestly, a app for a once a year carnival seems like a lot of work that'd get wasted, but maybe it's easier to make those kind of apps than I would think.

Nice crown. I like the blue gemstone. And the vaguely "rainbow" arches as the setting.

Offering to help the person giving out the carnival points. Is that cheating or just playing the system?

I guess Finley can play the trumpet. I suppose musical ability is vaguely water-adjacent, since sirens are a thing.

Doesn't really look like much of a carnival. Looks like a okay party, but it's not a carnival. Wait...is this WHOLE THING just a advertising stunt for Candi's own carnival in town?!

"There can only be one" Here we belong! Fighting for survival! We've come to be the rulers of you all!

"Oh no, I'm not ready for this responsibility!"

Pearla was robbed! Those donuts were jelly filled! JELLY! FILLED!

Everyone's a princess! Someone watched G3!

"I'll be there when you're sad" Because it makes me feel better about my own life!

You know, it's kind of weird we don't get more shots of them all running on the beach. It is a well known horse activity, after all, if romance movies have taught me anything.

Are ALL their songs required to have "Wild Manes" in them at some point? I'm not really complaining, but it feels like it happens a lot.

Group hug! This is one of the duties of the Carnival Queen. There is no escaping it.

Give me the PUMPKIN. No! I don't want that!

I love how the video it titled that it's a Thanksgiving episode, but this doesn't really have anything to do with that.

*Pouring out coco* yeah we can see where this is going.

At first I figured the pumpkin was in front of the door, but no we find out later that the vine is just wrapped around the thing. So... couldn't you just try to cut the vine?

"Stay put? Where would I go?"Okay obvious joke, but I love it.

Candi and Pip would get along so well.

Of course Candi is the judge. This town only has like maybe eight residents.

Yeah the second it broke I figured they'd enter a pie competition.

I was amused.

Timely holiday episode? This really does want to be TYT.

What I'm really wondering is why you keep going back to the "I bet you're wondering" openings. Switch over to the static crackle opening already. I'm liking when episodes do that.

Cocoa is Canadian?

I haven't worked food service so I do not know the struggle, but even if the whole town was in line I'm pretty sure you should be able to handle five people.

Obvious joke is obvious, but still morally obligatory.

Tilly didn't try this drink yet? So you had four people in line.

Is there any event Candi doesn't run in this town?

Well most of the contestants and the judge are right here, so I guess you can just change the competition on the fly.

My crazy grandma has the actual best pumpkin pie recipe.

Huh. Continuity? We got some of these episodes out of order. If this isn't a one-off, to these compilations might represent the intended episode order.

Apparently I'm bad at pattern recognition, because I did not notice that.

I may be underestimating this show. I'm actually tempted to go back and watch the compilations to see how much I'm missing.

Ah, pumpkin spice. Both the savior and the scourge of the fall season.

Pumpkin chuckin'? Okay, maybe this is going to be a different kind of episode than I was expecting.

I mean you could...run? I guess the fear of imminent gourdening has frozen them in terror.

"I bet you're wondering how this happened?" I guess it's a good idea for Cocoa to use her powers to reverse time right about now.

*Scoff* You think THAT can win a biggest pumpkin contest? That's barely acceptable supermarket sale size.

Pouring scalding hot pumpkin spice cocoa on a pumpkin...actually probably wouldn't do much? Especially since you already seemed to have cut the vine. They're pretty hearty fruits.

"I doubt my triple-pumpkin cocoa will have any effect on it...am I right?" You forgot to wink at the camera when you said that. If you're gonna do something, you might as well go all the way with it.

Don't come a-knockin' when Pearla's horse trailer is a-rockin' Cocoa. This could turn into a VERY different kind of cartoon if you do.

"Clubhouse". I know it expands and opens up, but it still feels weird to call it that.

The pumpkin just wants a hug. I've seen enough anime to know where this is going.

On the bright side, at least NOW it's closer to being a award-winning pumpkin!

"We're gonna need more Horse Power!" Somewhere, Tim Allen senses he is needed.

I mean, you could TRY to get out through the window. I assume they roll down.

When you think about it, I guess all of Candi's vlogs are advertising for the Theme Park she runs. Kind of makes more sense when you think about it like that.

Cocoa's cocoa or Sunny's smoothies, which would YOU rather try?

Candi WILL use your potential death for views! You will not have died in vain! You will gain her likes AND subscribes!

Actually, wouldn't working out already just sap your reserves of strength? You'd probably be all sore already.

Poor Pearla. Suffering all alone...next to her water fountain...can I get a turn being doomed, too?

Meh. It's still not quite county fair winning size. But, it squeaks by the minimum height requirements.

"You only got TWO horses to help you? No one has anything else to DO in this town, you'd think more people would show up to save my life. At least it would have killed some time."

Yeah...I think Candi's the mayor. Somehow, she's the most responsible one in the group.

Apparently, this pumpkin is filled with helium and has the elasticity of a giant rubber ball. Cocoa, what are you putting in your cocoa? And what is it doing to the horses of this town?

"ZA WARUDO!"

That some tongue on Cocoa. I know that’s more or less accurate to real horses, but it’s just kind of impressive that she could probably lick her own eyeballs if she really tried hard.

Well, the good news is that you'll have pumpkin pie for weeks. The bad news is I think eating said pie would turn you all into giant bouncy balls, too.

It's a small miracle I can even post this.

Soooooo fun fact. Sunday night I got hit by a car while biking home and broke my leg, broke my phone, my headphones, and the bike.

I JUST got my new phone today that let me use the stupid authenticator app to sign in here.

Now on to the video.

Okay remember everyone. Static opening means song!

I've always wanted to do an escape room.

Okay Coco Puff has a magic power confirmed. The hoof always knows.

The flashlight idea is neat, but no damn way the map was IN the apple. Like how would you even do that?

Song is alright.

Okay last piece of the map was under the plate. That makes more sense.

This is a really easy escape room isn't it?

Holy crap. Get well soon.

Song. Static crackle. Okay, maybe this is a pattern.

I keep seeing escape rooms pop up in various media, and I've never yet found one. Are these even real?

Who are you?

I don't know who you are, but you have some personality. I'll be keeping an eye on you.

At least we should get a map out of this episode. That's potentially interesting.

This show really is the new Tales. Magic exists, but it's elusive and mostly passive.

You watched her eat it.

Congratulations, Dreamer. You are not the biggest airhead today.

I don't even know what genre this song is.

For what it's worth, I feel like this show has more musical variety than G5. I could definitely tell this song apart from the others.

If this is a map of the whole town, it's no bigger than I thought it is.

30 minutes easily should have been enough time to find this key without the map.

All this and she doesn't even get to use the key.
