Who Else Shares That Name?

Just had an idea for what I thought might be a fun little exercise.

Transformers has a lot of characters with names that are just common words, so it's not uncommon to see some of them shared by characters from other Hasbro brands, or even other companies.

So let's see how many we can name.

I'm doing a few examples here just to start us off:

Shockwave

Ravage

Onslaught

Didn't mean to pick all Decepticons. Maybe they're more common?

LordGigaIce

Another babka?

Well, that just takes all the fun out of it...

I was going to say something like "no hogging all the names, so everyone can have a shot," but I thought that was being too stick-in-the-mud-y.

Oh well. *reads*

Oh, wait. This is only for other lines Hasbro owns.

Okay, I guess we can still do this. Just rule out the Hasbro-owned stuff, I guess?

I dig that there's a wiki page for that. I'm not sure when it'll be a useful reference for me, but it's cool to have.

Less cool to plop it in the middle of a game where that's the entire point.

It's not a character exactly, but one of the Wisp abilities from Sonic Colors is called Frenzy.

"Mirage" is also the name of at least two Disney characters: The evil anthropomorphic cat sorceress from the Aladdin TV series, and Syndrome's assistant from The Incredibles.

"Ratchet" and "Gasket" are also the names of the main villains from the movie Robots.

It's not nearly as prominent now (used to be in big letters on the side), but Interstate Batteries has a series of automotive batteries called Mega-tron, Mega-tron 2, and Mega-tron Plus. I've worked on cars since I was 8, and it has always made the Transformers fan in me laugh every time I see one.

In its early production stages, the American tokusatsu series VR Troopers was originally going to be called "Cybertron", and a two-part episode of Batman: The Animated Series featured a high-tech company called Cybertron Industries.

And in an episode of the 90s Incredible Hulk animated series, Bruce Banner examined some equipment among which was a piece of tech he referred to as "a Unicron Transformer".

In Japan, this manga and early vidya game-only card was just called Megatron.

(Does this count? I'm posting it anyway)
Absolutely!

Always thought that one was interesting, since Yu-Gi-Oh is Konami, and Konami and Takara collaborated (with Hudson, too, I believe) to make a Smash-style fighting game with Transformers and various other characters.

An inspiration for the name of one of my own characters, in a roundabout way.

That's likely where Andrew Frankel got the name from.
