Back in the early 2000s, the former SNL comedian Dennis Miller took a hard right turn and his next comedy special included an extended bit where he made fun of Muslims for being different and the punchline was ... that's it. The whole comedy bit was just making fun of Muslims for being different, the way a schoolyard bully would.
Now we have a "comedian" doing the same thing at Trump's Madison Square Gardens neo-Nazi rally, and people should really not be surprised. The heart of the right-wing movement was never "freedom": it was always social conformism. The reason they think it's funny to attack people for being different is because they have the mentality of a schoolyard bully.
