Fun fact! You've been able to use this system to donate to the debt since the 90's! They added venmo and paypal to make it EASIER for... them to foist their responsibilities onto other people.

No, it was only enough if you were a Democrat. And probably still is. Because the Republicans control the media landscape, which means they decide when someone's career is "over." The only time I can recall when a Republican was ruined over something petty was all the way back in the '50s when Nixon sweated too much on television, and the two parties were on much more even footing back then.
