Oh hey. Credit booster weekend is up, some good Gift of the Lotus missions on right now. Always appreciate a free weapon (Dex Dakras at the moment), even if it's one I just sell and turn it into a free slot instead.
Decided to sit down and grind out Koumei. Shrine Defense is quick and not hard to start with, and since I think her music is awesome and Vay Hek still makes me giggle the ambience doesn't get tiresome. Had a couple lucky drops of her part BPs and ground out enough pearls for the missing one, her main, and the actual construction within...I wanna say about 20 runs? RNG definitely favored me, looking at the math. Still need to churn out her weapons and trading card, but Koumei herself was the priority. I did the grinding in a couple sessions, took Vauban into one and Hydroid into the other...made it kinda laughable. Not complaining, mind, just dang. Lingering spot defenses just thrash certain missions, don't they.
Additional funny moment: Stalker dropped in on one of my runs. Poor bastard decided to jump me while I was under a Barrage AOE, Kraken AOE, shrine attack speed buff, and absolutely blenderizing a mob crowd. I didn't even notice him until his death voiceline.
Also got to thinking. Okay, Vauban (half of Minelayer's grenades, Bastille), Hydroid (Barrage, Kraken), Frost (Snowglobe)...who's your fourth party member with a spot defense AOE to create the True Fortress Of You're F$cked over a stationary objective?

I hope my multi-posting this thread isn't a bother, I just enjoy blabbing about the game. I decided to not actually touch Koumei until I had all her gear too, so I ground out the pearls for Higasa and Amanata. I'll go back for her trading card later. Still getting a feel for her abilities; the guides I've looked up are a little sparse. According to The Internet, she's either stupid broken or The Worst Ever, which is kind of unsurprising - I'm just surprised how little I'm seeing in between those two extremes. The gunbrella is a little odd and I haven't really figured out the alternate blast-beam yet, but the shield is useful; I have a stance for polearms that turns me into a blender so that's always fun.
Not entirely sure I'm happy with the standard green/white/black on her yet, I'll have to play with colors some more, but here she is - I like her noble animations, lot of personality:
