Walmart "Transformers Retro" line (G1-based redecos/retools)

Googling for a Brawn listing took me to a thread on TFW where apparently someone asked Evan about the Bumblebee head; Evan said the tooling for that head had been moved to a different factory after the last run of its use (Goldbug?). Called the mismatch an outcome of a "timing thing".

I'd love if they went above Deluxe. This line would be perfect for that toy-based Hot Rod they had to scuttle from the Speedia 500 capsule. And a proper altmode-packaged window box for the price point (they could maybe do Earthrise OP as another Voyager, or yet another Blaster or Soundwave) would fit in VERY nicely with the earlier Retro Headmasters.

So far it's been 'deluxe' only but that would definitely leave Prowl and Hound on the table, maybe not the jets? Unless they're just determined to only use things which originally were bubble-carded, but seeing as they're not packed in vehicle mode I don't see why they'd need to keep that level of 'G1 fidelity' anyway. I do hope to see a Cliffjumper without clear plastic, of either the Earthrise or new-version mold, as I don't have either one. I know they did it Buzzworthy-side but I never saw it. Probably the new version would be more G1 mini-bot-ish.

I wish they'd made the Brawn-claws too, they wouldn't have had to be huge, just 5mm ported square blocks with pinchers. Reason being, when G1 Brawn was NEW, my father got in a pretty bad car wreck, and the doctor at the rehab center suggested we bring him some things to fiddle with (keep in mind this was decades before fidget toys as a concept existed) so we got him a Rubik's Cube and a G1 Brawn. The visor-mask and claws stick out for me, due to that.

You know, i kinda want that Brawn. He’s one of the only G1 mini bots I owned. I had him, Seaspray, Bee and, though I never understood it til recently. Hubcap.

Robohead Brawn is neat.

I’d be down for another set of Gobots fromm the new Minibots. Maybe a new Bug Bite from SS86 Bee.

Retro Prowl and the boys would be nice. An Ironhide and Ratchet would be nice. Based on the ‘dying’ ones, but without the dying bits.

I would love a wave of these based on the G2 Minibots: Gold Bumblebee, Green Beachcomber, Dark Blue or Purple Seaspray, and Red Hubcap.

Oh? Now you’re speaking my language! I would kill for that. Especially if Hasbro went all out to chrome them. I still (I think) have G2 gold chrome Bee and chrome Blue? Seaspray…Somewhere.

YES! Retro-card G2 offerings please! If Powerglide is available when that idea in on the table, maybe slot him (in his inverted colors from the G2 Combiner Wars set) in place of Seaspray. For reasons I can't articulate, and not just because the drugs are kicking in.

As long as these releases rock the toy heads, I am in. Its the only reason i didn't splurge on Bee. Gears is beautiful though.

The chromed G2 minibots do sound really cool.

Retro card vs retro box - I got the retro Brainstorm whenever those were out and kept the box for display. I got a retro Bumblebee - the minibot w/ more paint and the newer head - and I have that tacked up to a wall. I skipped the retro Bumblebee and Gears because $25ish is a lot for something that'll never come out of the package.

I have two or three Bumblebees at that size, so I can mess with one whenever I want, but only one Brainstorm. So when it comes to the slightly bigger toys, I'd actually rather they put them in boxes than on cards.

(don't tell me how long ago that Brainstorm reissue was, I already feel old today!)

With Retro getting all the toy heads, Bee is standing out more and more for not having the masked head. Still want him though.

Gotta say though, after snapping up Legacy Origin Bee, I am having fun with pre earth flying pancake Bee.

Also, why does the rerelease get a jet pack?

Origins Bee already came with the rods and jet pack. The odd part is the pack fits better on the Volkswagon Bee mold (Wal-mart, Goldbug, Retro), it's molded to go on it perfectly.
