If not for the general deflating of Hollywood post-pandemic, I don't think the Bumblebee approach necessarily had to be the way to go. Most of the Bay films were maybe one script revision away from being fine. It was always annoying how close they were.

Actually, yeah. I've seen "FINAL DRAFT" and "REVISED FINAL DRAFT" be completely different scripts.

Some minor news on (one of?) Paramount's next Transformers film:

Reportedly, Jason Fuchs (Showrunner and co-creator of IT: Welcome to Derry) is taking on a writer's role of the new film. Rumored to pick up off the end of Rise of the Beasts, which featured Noah Diaz being recruited by the GI Joe Special Mission Force. The typical crew of producing partners are coming back, again.
Fuchs' project is reportedly separate from Derek Connolly's (Jurassic World, 2027 Legend of Zelda) reported Transformers and GI Joe crossover treatment

Huh, I figured when Bay got involved, it mean the live action reboot universe was toast and we'd either be going back to the bay series or see something new.

Eh, it's not like Bay gave a crap about his own continuity anyway.

We could see a soft reboot with it, the transwarp key being capable of manipulating space and time may explain timeline discrepensies in all the previous filns. It was theorized the Maximal homeworld was in the distant future AFTER The Last Knight and Scourge was once Optimus Prime. they could tie them in that way.

It is 2018. The next live-action Transformers movie may be a soft reboot. Or a reboot. Or a sequel. Maybe all of those. Perhaps.
