I'm sure it was a budget thing, just ran out of paint apps. Honestly, I'd have preferred the missiles on the sides of the trailer, but that would probably stick out too far for some track sets.

Of all the possible missing paint applications, this one is probably the easiest to do by hand after the fact.

Don't they know that the proper toon / toy ratio for new versions of Transformers is a slightly different, constantly-shifting and unguessable number that happens to conform to my exact tastes and faltering memories?

The only real issue I have is that these are the "Track Fleet" series, which is not as widely available as the "Super Rigs" that are carried at almost every Walmart and Target around. Otherwise, they're kind of cool little bits of merch!

I did find Optimus at my local Target, which is a mid-sized one that doesn't get a lot of the stuff that the larger ones do.

It is hard to see how you could make that work given the wheelbase is a standard HW size.

i guess there are a couple of different lines of Hot Wheels semis:

Mega Rigs can hold cars, but are too wide for tracks.

Track Fleet can fit on tracks, but not hold cars.

Magnus and Prime came out in the Track Fleet line, so no dice.

FWIW, if you have a Farm King or similar farm store in your area, and you are still looking for the Track Fleet Optimus Prime (or Magnus), you might want to check them out. I found an Optimus at the nearest Farm King, and my sister found one at the one nearest to her, and it's not a place I would have even thought about looking for Track Fleet. With the holiday season coming up, they might even stock up more than normal soon?

OH! that's a good idea. Our local Farm and Fleet always has a ton of Hot Wheels and none of the standard big box stores around me gave been carrying Track Fleet anymore.

Hmm...never heard of Farm King before. There's a "Rural King" near my area but I'm not sure if it's the same company.
