The bird is NOT the word, it is, in fact, a hand gesture. A hand gesture that can only be made correctly if the hand itself is made out of a dinosaur, which makes dealing with the aftermath of the Report very tricky depending on just what the Report contains.

Or so I understand, anyway, I haven't actually watched it yet, I've just been following the thread.

A bird named "Skyreport" just makes me think of this.

But he looks great, with a headsculpt that's pretty reminiscent of Archadis. I might still get Leafback eventually because dinosaurs are cool, but it's nice to have options for representing Grass Energy. I hope Ground Energy gets some more interesting ones too (although I'm warming to Spirituan, whose robot bits kind of balance out the bland colors on the dino bits).

So far iirc there are 3 Aqua Energy Beasts (Hydrophant, Frost Saber, Abyssrain), 3 Flame Energy Beasts (Captain Volca, Ignite Leo, Lavamuleta), 2 Lightning Energy Beasts (Lightlong, Thunderbeak), 2 Ground Energy Beasts (Spirituan, Drillnohorn), 2 Energy Beasts (Leafback, Skyreport). And then whatever Dragonandbabies is. Is that right?

(This is foreshadowing of me eventually circling around and completing the Energy Beasts later on by getting ones I skipped the first time.)

I halfway hope that they do some recolors of the beasts with different elements so that it would be possible to do an all-fire combiner (or any other element). Only halfway hope that because a more prudent part of me knows that I don't NEED to buy more of these things, especially if they're just repaints.

Curious if the dragons will have one of the existing elements, a new "darkness" element, or no element at all.

Agreed, Sky Report's head is probably a deliberate reference back to Archadis. But will he be the Masked Flying Ace sort in terms of personality?
Personality? In this show? Ha!

They each get one single defining character trait and that's it:

Optimus: Hero
Megatron: Villain
Lightlong: Energetic
Captain Volca: Hostile
Leafback: Brutish
Hydrophant: Cowardly
Spirituan: Cunning
Ignite Leo: Noble
Drillnohorn: Headstrong
Thunderbeak: Wild
Abyssrain: Quiet

Am I the only one who is reminded of the Zoids Z-Builders that formed around these small cube-cores? I have a ton of them, and they look so similar in some cases!

I had to look those up to see what you were talking about, which was a huge mistake as now I want those.

Inquiring minds would like to know. Do Z-builders connect with 5mm posts/holes, or are they a different type of connection?

Re: 5mm pegs, "sort of"? Most of their pegs and joints definitely are in that range, but they're oddly shaped, so they don't plug in easily. It was a spare Z-builder bit I tried to modify as an adapter to attach an Animated axe to HasLab Optimus, but I had to sand the tapered end quite a bit and it still didn't work right.

I remember the Z-Builders, took me a while. Always seemed like a fun concept.

Wild King has always given me a low key Ryusoulger vibe with the modularity and the peg-parts-anywhere thing. Except of course with a broader beast base than just dinos. There may be a more apt Sentai comparison in terms of the combinations, but Ryusoulger is just what I'm familiar with thanks to Dino Fury. Have a fondness for that due to a binge watch a few years ago (absurd how long it's been), and it's part of WK's charm for me.

Ah, ok. Several of those, especially that Mosasledge, really grabbed my attention and I was wondering if it would be possible to use them with Transformers.
