This Prime is gorgeous but it needs vehicle drones. With elbows.
That's quite the markup for the combined mode...
I may be swayed to get this if the limbs are cool redecos or something, but if it's just a gift set of them as is, that's just an even bigger paywall and my interest in the Op drops even further. Which my wallet is probably breathing a sigh of relief over. In any case this is already too pricey for comfort as such a big set.

Only interested if they do the proper Energon limb drones. Not buying random animals colored like the vehicles.
I'd also be interested in a Wing Saber. It's outside the scope of this line but that doesn't matter. Takara can do whatever and charge whatever. Just do the cool thing. This toy wears this color scheme so well. Embrace its destiny and go all the way with it.
If you're paying for either to be sent to my place for free, then fair enough. Go nuts.

On one hand I get it.
Back in CW/UW Takara repainted the Optimus mould into Grand Scourge, their Nemesis-style repaint of Energon Optimus that had previously only existed as a mini pla figure. They didn't do any of the drone limbs, they just saw a chance at an homage because they had an Optimus that could turn into a Combiner torso.
So seeing as they found themselves there again with Wild King... yeah I get it. Do an homage, make it fit into the play pattern.
But on the other hand... man... it feels like this was so close to an ideal update/homage and now... it's not.
I suppose there's a chance a 3P company will made drones as an add-on but between the price to import this plus what a 3P company would charge for four drones that have to do some level of transforming, it's not likely to be worth it.
I am surprised at how much this clear plastic isn't working its usual magic on me.

It's a nice set, and I'm a sucker for Wild King, but I don't need this one.
I am not a big fan of the translucent animals so this is an easy pass for me. Maybe if they ever bring this toyline over, they can do the drones for it or maybe just the regular decos for the animals.
All this reveal does for me is convince me that the energy badges should have been clear plastic all this time.
