Catching up with Transformers: Cyberworld again. Fortunately, there was no new episode this week, so I can just focus on last week's.
The YouTube description for Episode 20, "Over the Sea", reads as follows:
Team Optimus just jumped into the MOST INTENSE ocean platformer challenge yet! To uncover the truth about Wheeljack, Elita-1, Optimus Prime and Bumblebee take on a relentless co-op time-trial over the open ocean and the slightest mistake can send them straight down! Can they beat the clock, or will the ocean win?
Find out for yourself! Then stick around for my review behind the spoiler tag!
To be honest, there's not a whole lot to say about this one. Ironic, given that platformers are probably my favorite gaming genre of all time.
And sure, the action is neat, and it's good to see Elita getting a grip on working with Optimus and Bumblebee a little more as they work to find Wheeljack's whereabouts, but honestly? This episode just doesn't have a whole lot of meat on it.
The trio go to Wheeljack's last known coordinates, where he fought Sky-Byte, but a new game program appears: A three-tiered platformer that the group must get through cooperatively.
I did get a hearty chuckle out of Optimus completely no-selling Bumblebee's "top bot for the top spot" line, though.
We do get a couple of interesting bits of information here, such as the program despawning and leaving them trapped on the island (I thought the portals warped them to dedicated "game zones"), and apparently they can assume their old alt modes/forms at will, as Bumblebee does to speed to the finish.
This wasn't a bad episode or anything, but it felt kind of filler-y, not really doing much to advance the plot. Maybe the boost they got at the end will come into play later, but there's really not a lot to take from this one.
If you really don't have five minutes to spare, you can safely skip this one.
