I like Starscream better then Mirage, and its not just my bais towards the character, the black on him just helps so much imo. Mirage just feels very lacking in detail.

It's a shame Chop Shop has to be from the slightly pricier assortment with the gimmick weapon, but I guess if I want a BW Insecticon, it exists and I can just get that. This'll be a neat thing to get, and it's hardly the first time I store-and-ignore an accessory. (Definitely seconding the sentiment of "just give them a hoard of simple weapons rather than one chunky spring-loaded one").

Does the front mandible fold down, or can it be held as a weapon when removed?

Hasbro probably thinks the gimmick weapons are better fidget toys, and they're probably right. But yeah I'd rather have loot crates. Maybe slather Prime in paint and pack him with a loot crate and sell it as a Voyager. Whatever. Make it happen somehow.

I won't turn any such thing down (imagine even a papercraft crate drop crate from the show with a handful of pew pews inside).

But I might also be convinced to support such weapon packs included with a character redecoed into a generic or otherwise repurposeable mission deco. If that makes more sense at retail, sure.

For a while, Star Wars accessory sets also had little droids and creatures. TF could more little drone guys and things. Scraplets, small single-piece army-builder-types-- that kind of thing.

The 5mm posts are also begging for thrusters, fins/canards/wings, wheels, armor blocks, etc-- not just weapons.

I'd love, like, a pack of the three mini Sharkticons or Repugnuses they had for Cyberverse or mix and match in random colors, accompanied by a slew of 5mm accessories.

Or the figure pack-in is like bits of Cog or Brunt spread out across four accessory packs

There's also those underwater engine pods from Armada that IMO seemed like an advertisement for an actual product.

Blindpacked random-colored build-a-figure pieces are absolutely right up my alley.

(Maybe no one else's, tho.)

I guess they don't even have to be entirely blindpacked- have one or two pieces visible and the rest hidden (like BotBots, though those weren't actually random).

Hasbro got scared off because some of those Star Wars sets did not do great. But the Transformers sets so far have clearly been a different story. They should be feeling a little more confident by now.

Yeah, Star Wars is a vastly different beast to Transformers. But also, Transformers have been kinda conditioning us to want this since Siege. We WANT to make every toy we own into G2 Sideswipe. We want ridiculous and absurd.
