I imagine the goal is to reach all 32 teams eventually, but I'm guessing we're not seeing that in one huge pile for the same reason we don't usually see 32 anythings released at once, unless it's, like, Botbots. (Please don't make 32 Lacefaces, I miss the line enough that I'll be roped into getting them)

I mean sure, these are all the same main mold, but while there is some appeal to having a populated field, it might also lead to choice paralysis (although I'm sure many will just pick Their Team and be done with it). That, or people might not be able to afford many multiples in one go, but might be better equipped to keep up with this in stages.

Plus, a staged rollout can sustain interest versus a one-and-done. This way they can do (oh no, math) 8 waves of 4, or a few waves of 4 and some waves of iconic Superb Owl clash 2-packs or whatever. But I agree that the longer it stretches out the more of a gamble it will be that this could fizzle out. All comes down to the contract, I guess.

It'd be neat to see 32 names flood the zone, for sure (I maintain that I want to see Oval and Spiral back as they are finally really relevant). But if they're all going to be as imaginative (they make SENSE but aren't particularly creative) as KC-59 or fellow Collab bots JP12 and JP93... Eh.

Well, we did, up until Hasbro lost the name and had to call him "Kick-Over" instead.

Otherwise, why not just do all 32 teams now?
I'm not sure I agree with your doom and gloom outlook. They've introduced four very popular teams. A good four to lead with. I don't think they're gonna stagger these and draw them out. It was just a four team teaser of the line.

I don't intend it to be "doom and gloom," but simply the realistic (IMHO, of course) perspective that sustaining 8 waves of all-but identical figures... folks are bound to get tired of it. There's going to be a drop-off of interest long before wave 8 would be ready.

Not all Collab figures have been released at retail, and I'm unsure if the NFL ones will. I doubt they're gonna sell eight wave of identical stuff at mass retail like Walmart or Target. Honestly, I have no idea what the wider plan is here, but I'd expect some focus on comic book and hobby shops, with maybe a push to get localized team figures out when possible.

I'm just spitballing here, I have no idea, but I don't think Hasbro's going to try and release eight full waves of these guys alongside the AotP, SS, and Cyber World stuff.

I suspect the first wave will hit retail to test the waters, then if there seems to be enough interest, the rest will go to their teams' stadiums or other specialty shops. Maybe a special release of the yearly Superb Owl winners or whatever.

For collectors of every robot, perhaps, but each team is essentially the only one that followers of any team will ever want, so the market is perhaps there? Arguably, it's the same for anyone that makes similar identical merchandising products with different sports teams logos on them.
