Even better: CUBE!I could go for some pre-existing TF colorschemes representing fictional teams.

Not a whole league, and they have a *lot* of existing names they can recycle. So will Hasbro pay to copyright Thirty-Two (32) different names, that will have limited use outside of this line?
"You're America's team alright! That's why you'll be watching the Super Bowl like most of America, on your couch!"I do wonder why the Cowboys version comes with a football. Not like they know what to do with it . . . . .
Do the CFL, Hasbro. DooooetttttI could go for some pre-existing TF colorschemes representing fictional teams.
Yeah! Give us the "Chicken Farmers of Louisiana", Hasbro!Do the CFL, Hasbro. Dooooettttt
I would absolutely not be expecting a football helmet TF based on a photomosaic.Watchh them catch us all unexpected with the release of one based on a collage football team.
It's the perfect time for Oval and Spiral to come back! Not a whole league, and they have a *lot* of existing names they can recycle.
I mean, all they have to do now is give them new decos, really. All the mold development work is already done.I've little doubt that Hasbro can turn a profit on what's been announced. I'm less confident they can do so enough to warrant doing the whole NFL.
Before time began, there was The Cube.
Oh, I realise that. Just was commenting that for overseas (as in non-American) Transformers fans, the appeal is going to be marginal. Usually the collaborative figures are related to franchises with a higher level of international recognition. However, given the NFL figures seem to share mouldings, I suspect they will be profitable enough. These are going to appeal to people who aren't necessarily transformers fans, but just football fans in general who want tchotckes of their favorite team.
This one actually feels more appropriate since Fox has used football-player robots in some of their graphics.
I'm pretty sure they only have to have the rights from the NFL. I don't think individual teams get a say.So will Hasbro pay to copyright Thirty-Two (32) different names, that will have limited use outside of this line?
Correct. NFL licences work on a collective bargaining model. Meaning if you buy a hat for your local team the profits are split 32 ways.I'm pretty sure they only have to have the rights from the NFL. I don't think individual teams get a say.
I'm sure Hasbro would own those if only because I doubt the NFL would want or even know what to do with them. As for Agent X's question of "So will Hasbro pay to copyright Thirty-Two (32) different names, that will have limited use outside of this line?"...Unless the NFL owns the trademarks for names like "KC-59" and "Tundra Prime", that seems completely unrelated to "Hasbro is trademarking a bunch of new names for this".
Hasbro registers trademarks (as was pointed out, not copyright, which is why I responded vis-a-vis the NFL in the first place, apparently misunderstanding the question) for new names all the time, but there are TONS of names that they don't bother to register. Hasbro's only going to register trademarks (is there a fee associated with this? I honestly don't recall) they think they'll want to use later.I'm sure Hasbro would own those if only because I doubt the NFL would want or even know what to do with them. As for Agent X's question of "So will Hasbro pay to copyright Thirty-Two (32) different names, that will have limited use outside of this line?"...
I don't see why not? Hasbro pays to copyright new names all the time. And clearly the cost of doing that thirty-two times for this collab was factored in and deemed a worthwhile investment, or it wouldn't have happened.
I guess I don't see it as a massive roadblock.
