And the sandwich needs to have only vegetables and no meat, otherwise Casey Kasem will be rolling in his grave (he once walked away from voicing Shaggy because of the episode having Shaggy eat meat; Kasem was a vegetarian and refused to play the role if Shaggy wasn't also a vegetarian, leading to Scott Menville playing Shaggy in Kasem's stead).

Since it looks like Mysterious Prime uses Titan Master posts on the heads, if you don't like the included heads you can swap in whatever you prefer. :) Or get one of a bazillion 3D printed faceplates and stick it on a clearanced Prime Master body....

My biggest issue with Mysterious Prime is the heads, and them being easily removable is a plus in my book. The rest of the figure seems like a perfectly decent representation of the Mystery Machine as a Transformer, so either I will use this idea, or just leave the heads off. A warrior doesn't need a head, just a good cartoony body...

ER Ironhide was the wrong template for this design. Something more like Origins Wheeljack or even better something like a Battle Sled style Ironhide would be better.

They did a good job with the external appearance of the Mystery Machine but that's not what I remember about it. What I remember about it is that it's basically a Tardis that magically has enough space for all the cargo or amenities Hanna-Barbera felt like giving it in any given episode. It's a full sized luxury RV magically squeezed down to van size. It is impossibly nice. That's what makes it a character. They obviously can't replicate that, but some functional cargo space would have been nice.

I wouldn't mind a roof rack that converted into an older style hiking backpack (maybe with a surfboard?). Would have helped cover up some of those back gaps, too.

Weirdly, while I kind of like the Origins Wheeljack vibe for a different Party Wallop, I don't really want it for this. Partly because the "toys all ride inside" was such a thing for the original Party Wagon toy, and while I remember a lot of shots and scenes of the gang inside the Mystery Machine, it's definitely not what comes to mind for me first -- it's the looping-background shots of it driving along. (I never had a single piece of Scooby merch, but I'm sure there were Mystery Machines that could also carry the figures.) Nevertheless, if you're going to include anyone, I agree that them being able to ride this would enhance it a LOT.

It really does in some ways feel like the plans or concepts for a more robust offering got culled down one by one until this was what was left. Imagine at least a Godbomber style situation where the front of the van opens to seat two or three Titan Masters, and the fourth and Automutt, er, store in the back or something. Then the cockpit/storage went, the Titan Masters got simplified down to just plug-in heads, and so on. Automutt survived because the whole point is Scooby Doo.

What I remember the most is the gang sitting such that everyone’s visible through the front windshield. This doubly fails that image by not having robot modes for the heads and having solid windows

I think you're right. The torso seems to be an empty block with no engineering taking up any space inside. The shoulders are on z-hinges, so they maneuver around the windows instead of cutting through them. There's no head taking up space, because you pop that off and just set it aside with the others somewhere because they do nothing, which is great. It seems like they were trying to preserve that space so they could use it for something. But then they didn't.

I wonder how this would've been received if they'd gone the BTTF or Ghostbusters route and just made up a character.

By all accounts, Hasbro and Mattel are very happy with how the Transformers X Hot Wheels Collabs have been doing. They ran off a store exclusive variant and a second wave of moulds, so I'm guessing they're doing pretty well for themselves.

And yet I still bought both of them for 50% of their RRP.
