I think my issue with it, is that it still looks too much like regular Shockwave. He barely looks like he'd turn into a Whale in robot mode, and Whale Mode, looks too much like "Law says he can't be a gun any more" half-assry.

So, my Age of the Primes Sideways is apparently in some state of limbo at Hasbro Pulse. I called them about it today, and they said that they would get back to me about it.

I really, really hope that they do. I'm getting flashbacks to the Siege Omega Supreme mess here.
I just got charged for my Pulse Sideways a day or two ago. Based on how they've been doing recently, I expect to get a shipping notice for him any time now.

I think the logic (pun not intended) behind it was "What if G1 Shockwave scanned a beast altmode but kept his normal robot mode just like in the G1 cartoon's pilot episode?"

In other words, the same kind of logic that the entire Siege line was based around: "Familiar robot mode look, but different altmode." Sure, that's not as fun as having the new altmode alter the robot mode in some way like in post-1980s series, but this team really seems committed to sticking to that G1 cartoon logic at all costs, for better or for worse.

Doesn't change my opinion.

Does mean we missed out on a Grimlock that turns into a T-rex with wheels ala Cyberverse Sky-byte by not voting him to have a vehicle mode.

While I agree in terms of the concept art…I’m reserving judgment until we see an actual toy model.

It's nifty, but I don't need it at all and I'm glad for that.

But I'd love to see a retool of this into someone else.

they did a vote for this?

when? where?

lemem guess this vote was entirely done on social media i don't have instead of like idk THEIR OWN WEBSITE and therefore anyone who doesn't have an account on that social media site would've be excluded from voting. RIGGED ELECTION. STOP THE COUNT.
