As an aside, my family has been using that joke for years. This last Christmas, we moved to a new house with a neighbor named Bill and a very sloppy mailman, so we actually ARE always getting Bill's mail. Life imitates art and all that.
Our family joke is a borrowed line from "Good Neighbors" ("The Good Life" in the UK):
Tom: "...bills?"
Barbara: "Some of these are big enough to be Williams."

Ol' Markclonus has given a hefty look at the brand new Big Convoy due in a few months:

I WILL say that I kind of miss that black/coal helmet thing the SDCC proto had going on. I dug it for something different from the usual Optimus motif. I just never got around to getting the original in his "hero" deco, so this one is high on my list for next year.

I wonder if Mark is aware that Big Convoy and Lio Convoy are actually supposed to be equal in height to each other from head to toe in the anime.

I took a quick glance at the comments on TFW about him, and just kept seeing complaints about how small he is compared to Lio and Magmatron. Meanwhile, I was disappoined that he seems to be a bit too big. Doesn't seem to be too far off at least. And given the angle the camera's at (note Big's feet are higher in frame than Lio's), I'm hoping he'll actually be closer to the same height than he looks there.

"The one man army is here to take down the emperor of destruction, you know his name and we were able to actually keep it this time Big Convoy bashing through your collection! Move over Lio, the tusks got some important predacon kicking to do!

Tomo san had the honor to work on this absolute beast of a wooly mammoth! My dude knows the beasts well, he has shown us who the true king of the convoys truly is!

I just got off a voice conference call with the TT team, we cooking up some big things! I have to keep it short tonight as duty calls, please enjoy the pics!! Amalgamous will finally be next!

I'm going to wait for the inevitable TT repaint of this figure at least. It's too small and the anime-style paint doesn't do the character's gorgeous toy paint and materials any justice. The original version, while being a brickformer, was still better in every other way. He's called BIG Convoy for a reason.

Easy pass.

I still need a Lio Convoy. I preordered the Anniversary release but the anime lion's definitely gonna look weird next to the Generations beasts.

Big Convoy looks great but I'm not a fan of the white on the tusks and face. Weathering should help the tusks but hopefully the head's easy to disassemble to paint the face and eyes.

Recently saw a lion face upgrade that addressed my main issue with the mold (the derpy sad lion face). I may wait for more info on that and try it out; I like the anniversary one for its "still derpy but different derpy" lion face and better arm blades (my other main issue with the mold), and generally for being more similar to the BW2 one with the gold. But I like the white and warm yellow on this one, and I think the lion face kit or whatever may run me a bit less than having to re-buy the whole thing.

I bought some sculpting clay from an art store intending to fix retail Lio Convoy’s face if it ever went on sale but he never did. Just the black repaint

We're still waiting on that anniversary Lio Convoy.

Big Convoy looks great. I don't mind that he's shorter than Magmatron. I cannot wait to get him.

He was always shorter than Magmatron, both as a toy and in the show, so that matches up.

His original toy was also shorter than all of the other Ultra class Beast Wars leader toys, so his name always seemed to be ironic.

This Big Convoy looks rad. I have the original, and while it has a certain classic charm it's also clearly limited in a way a lot of JBW original moulds were limited at the time.

This new one looks more solid in every way, and I'll eagerly pick it up.

It's kind of like when the big guy of the group is nicknamed "Shorty."

But this does kind of further my desire to have a Westernized name for him, like how Lio Convoy became Leo Prime.
"Big Convoy" admittedly doesn't have as natural a rename as that, but I think it was possible. I'd have gone with "Slammoth Prime."
Just have fun with it.
