Potpie Volcanicus is pretty terrible. Or at least, Grimlock is an awful torso. But after finally completing the SS set, I think I'm good with Dinobots, unless they do something crazy, like The Beast.

Hoping they move on to the season three teams. They could all use another run.

Grimlock has some interesting ideas but really needed to be a leader to fully realize them. Becuase I mostly like how he looks as a torso, except for him having a skinny waist. Being a voyager just compromised pretty much all of his modes. I would like to see them do a redo of a full sized Volcanicus, but they would likely go with the "official" limb orientation (Swoop and Slag as arms, Snarl and Sludge as legs) rather then my prefered way (Swoop and Snarl as Arms, Slag and Sludge as legs). But it would be interesting to see them try to remake a new combiner that doesn't have a cartoon counterpart like him, Orthia, or Victorion/Mega Empress (yes, I know that not the combined name, but feels like it should be) just to see how they would do it.

I would be more surprised if Victorion doesn't happen, once all the molds are out. Might end up as a Pulse exclusive or something, though.

Adding insult to price injury, for me at least, a few pics of Brawl are popping up with major stress marks around the 'collar' part of the joint of the Bruticus ankle. It's a really simple stress point, clearly the tube is just a bit too big for the ring it fits through. This early on those have to be earlier production samples, I'd assume. I hope that this is fixed with the actual release, because even though I can't preorder anything at the moment, like some have said, I have CW Defensor and I'd like a Bruticus that doesn't share the molds to counterpoint him.

Edit: I don't like these guys much, and I never post there because the forum is...not fun most of the time, but here's the part with the pics of Brawl's issue.

I think they'll get to as many as they can. The problem is that under this new scheme the torso is always a Commander class. And there's only one of those a year. In CW and PotP the torsos were Voyagers, which made them much easier to get out en masse.

Unless they find ways to shove them into Studio Series.

There we go, Studio Series Volcanicus! Sure they already did the Leader class Dinobots, but we already got a Core Class Wheelie and they want redo him with the Retro mold. And Megatron shows that they don't care if the toy actually reflects what the movie does. So SS86 Volcanicus to fight your SS86 Devastator, as Primus intended. :p

There's a very loose wall between Studio Series and AOTP or whatever the 'main' line is, I could easily see them doing things interchangeably, like back in the Reveal The Shield days where a lot of clearly G1 bots were put into the movie line.

To be fair it isn't just the price so much as the number of figures I want and the timing for me. Around Christmas I get gift cards that I can put towards preorders....but for now...I'm sitting these out ...I'll get my Primes and Sureshot for sure. I might have to make a tough decision on the Combaticons though.

Skids: "Well, Bee, you can always go out and buy another one of me, instead. I'm still pegwarming somewhere out there."
Bwahaha.....I actually own 3 of these Skids figures....I bought a second on the cheap to use for photos, he had a cracked door so Hasbro sent me another (only time I ever got the actual figure I had a problem with).
