I would love a full set of G2 Dinobots but unfortunately, looks like we're getting two sets of three.
The solid colours G2 Dinos only ever had three, and the whacky 90s G2 Dinos only ever had three so... this is pretty much all there is to do unless they're going to start inventing the missing Dinobots from each style.

Yeah, I'm not expecting them to do it but I'm only interested in the complete set of five in thematic colors, so I'll probably settle for the G1 colors.

I dont either, but it's not stopped me getting the G2 Dinobots. I will personally buys every g2 release if it shows Hasbro there is a market for them and the finally finish the damned G2 Stunticons.

Yeah I got the Toxitron collection and thus Grimlock on the same principle, but I really can't sustain that for the rest of these. Maybe someday.

They really need the sticker details. Toon accuracy does not apply to G2, so let them go wild with toy accuracy.
Careful what you wish for. Hasbro could see that request and think, "Oh! The fans want us to bring back the foil stickers from TR and POTP! Alrighty then! We'll get right on that!"

Only if the sticker detail is sculpted there in the first place. I hate when they just tampo a sticker pattern 1:1. It never looks good.

They should've done the Core Class ones first in G2-esque colors.

(i am very smrt)
In hindsight, this seems like it should have been the obvious answer. We 'just' got combining Dinobots in PotP, giving the Core releases G2 color schemes would have been an easy way to convince anyone on the fence to pick them up. Especially if they did second runs in the alternate color schemes. Instead, we got a whole bunch of gray and black dudes that seem to have contributed to the death of the size class.

None of the G2 schemes particularly match up with the Dinoforce colors (I think? May have to double-check later), and the G1-color dinos would have made a nice box-set with the Dinoking bits later on, so it is puzzling why they didn't go this route.

I was glad to just pick and choose from the G1 colors (to be fair I did get half the group), but I'd definitely have made sure to get all six if they were the G2 colors (but they probably wouldn't have done my preferred Green Snarl/Red Slag). I'd still get the Dinoking like I did in this timeline, and I might've even been tempted by a G1 colors box set then. They're nifty little molds but wave after wave of the same look is a big push.

I think I've whined/ranted about this before, but...

I remain absolutely baffled that the Core/Legends/sub-Deluxe/Basic/Scout pricepoints/size-classes ended. They were entry-level-type fun little guys and one would think that cheaper figures would sell more units than more expensive ones.

The only thing I can really think of is that packaging and distribution costs ate up too much (relatively speaking) or something.

I *guess* the collector/youth element divide probably plays some part, but ehhhh it makes me so irrationally angry

Although I would like actually small characters (Micromasters, cassette-bots, etc) in Legends size, I won't miss the line in general. I didn't see the point in buying the same characters again as smaller and less articulated toys.
