Brawl is on Bruticus's leg in that picture, the connection joint is just intercompatible between Superion and Bruticus.

Unless you're suggesting that Bruticus is also required, which given Superion is blatently mentioned in the product description for the two limbs and Bruticus is not, I don't think is going to be the case.

So the quick and dirty pic to show off that he can combine back in February used Vortex and Brawl, since they were the only helicopter and tank available. I wouldn't take that to mean the final limbs will be. I'm pretty sure Collapse was originally leaked as supposedly being the new Landquake, and he's a Deluxe. I'm still betting he'll be a new mold compatible with Superion, which is why he's coming later than the two head retools.

Look, if it all ends up that you really do have to steal parts from two other Commanders and cripple two other combiners just to get Nexus to combine, I'll be as pissed as anyone. But I find that to be an incredibly pessimistic viewpoint. I don't love all the decisions the team makes, but I certainly have more faith in them than that.

The problem, I think, is that we still think in fairly “short term”, especially with the Collector segment(s). Hasbro has proven they will spend YEARS (for good or ill) to finish a project. The Devastators each took a solid year, and we’re only NOW getting a Mini-con pack to complete figures released 3-4 years ago.

It’s entirely possible Hasbro will have a new frame for Nexus Prime in the future, they just haven’t been able to slot it in, or find a release venue, or simply showed it to us since all the limbs won’t be out until next year anyway.

The shuttle's new head has a face that is based on Nexus Prime's insignia:

It kind of is, assuming you ignore all those other shapes that are just as prominent as the highlighted ones.

As a whole it kind of reminds me of that lineart alternate head from... Someone's RTS instructions. Lugnut?

Is the Nexus plane figure one of the Superion leg guys? That would make sense, if the other arm is Vortex. Is it possible that the Brawl repaint will have heavier remolding to adapt to the Superion foot piece?

Damn me if I'm not being swayed by those Decepticons (Megs is at least the IDW tweaked version of the Siege mold, and Cybertronic just looks good). And maybe even Optimus. I just love how clear plastic looks in general, and even the internals and other-side greebling of Stege looks great in Tron/Force Ghost deco.

Maybe if and when these get clearanced, IDK.

I don't know if it's the studio lighting or what, but they just look phenomenal here. Now give me...I don't know, Seige Soundwave with Brunt in red, Seige Shockwave with Fasttrack in orange, & Seige Ironhide with cog in green? Could be an excuse to get Seige Ultra Magnus in his "classic" clear yellow look again....who would best pair with him though?

Yeah, I've been meh on these but they really made then pop in these shots.

Those all sound neat, but it'd be cool if they branched out beyond Siege. Getting that Magnus (rather Kingdom than Siege) would be worth encountering all the tiresome Piss Magnus jokes again.

Might also be a neat space to sneak in a clear Sunstorm from the Earthrise mold...

I like the weaponizers in concept but hate that the unpaintable parts are not only opaque but make no effort to blend into the color scheme. Maybe if they go on discount or as an impulse buy if they show up in person.

That bit I actually like as it breaks up the appearance. Might even be better if they were complementary colors or gave better contrast rather than being also blue and also purple.

I suspect that this whole thing started with the idea to do a Megatron version of the Behold, Galvatron Gen Selects release. And they either couldn't fit it into the normal Gen lineup and had to create a capsule around it to get it out there, or someone saw the concept and thought it would be fun to build a mini line around that one idea. Either way, I think getting the above shot was 100% the impetus here, and the other three figures are just along for the ride.

I always thought Behold, Galvatron was neat, and that they executed that idea as well as it could be. I just don't have the physical space in my collection for something like this. And sadly that's the issue at play here. All four of these guys look super cool, but between shelf space being at premium, and prices being what they are now... I just don't see myself picking these up. Shame, they all look really cool.
