Kup would likely name it: the story of the Golden bot and it would likely go something like this:
"Once there was a Golden bot, so shiny and bright that you had to wear sun glasses just to see what he looked like, but then after a few years of him always polishing himself, then one day he suddenly felt the sudden urge to sneeze and everyone heard him sneeze extremely loudly that it could be heard for a nano mile! Then suddenly afterwards it began raining golden flakes, while the golden bot was nowhere to be found, no matter where you look, he could not be found, where he was stood was just a pile of junk pretending to be a transformer, I know what really became of him after that, but that is a story for another time!"

Yesterday during the stream the team mentioned that a reissue of HasLab Unicron isn't in the cards, but they want to explore ways of getting representation for Primus and Unicron out at retail. Unicron Soldier was part of that plan, and "New Prime" as the Primus equivalent seems to be the second part of that.

People are speculating it could be anything from some form of Zeta Prime to golden Rodimus to something entirely new.

So basically no one has any idea

Oh yeah. I'm bracing for whatever it is to be pretty neat and still get a ton of hate from people upset that it's not the thing they specifically tricked themselves into thinking was obvious, but what can you do? This brand would never release anything if they were worried about irrational fan outrage.

I assume New Prime will be a partial of one of the existing Primes. Hasbro will reuse some of this Prime's parts, along with some other new parts, and reconstruct another Prime, and rename it New Prime.

I figure there'll be a different, perhaps slightly better (perhaps slightly less good) name, and New Prime is as much an indicative placeholder as Unicron Soldier turned out to be. Probably even "Herald of Primus" then.

Given that, idk what I want it to be right now. But the idea of Onyx Prime in Magna Stampede colors just came to mind and that feels pretty unlikely but pretty cool.

I am *so* not feeling these shitty design decisions that have left both Swerve and Tailgate with hideous face/designs.

Swerve’s is a compromise that leaves both groups unsatisfied and Tailgate looks like he’s walking around with a Jambi box around his head.

I can understand that IDW Tailgate’s head is too stylized to work in a G1 line but they could’ve def used IDW Swerve’s head/face.

I'm fine with the direction they went with Swerve, and am surprised by how much i rather like the overall proportions. I just wonder if a wide block head like Gears' might have been the way to go. Certainly a bit less cumbersome to turn. But I guess that's not the route the show model went, and in the end it turned out looking okay. But as much as I really like the IDW Swerve character and design, I don't know if I'd like that head on essentially another Swerve's body.

But this Tailgate face is definitely not to my liking. I don't even need the IDW/T30 one, same degree of incongruous as I mentioned above about Swerve. But adhering to this animation model didn't turn out as nicely as it did on Swerve; even something like the POTP Tailgate headsculpt would be better.

The season 3 designs weren't great but I really don't like the way they interpreted these designs. Swerve would be okay if the towers to either side of his head were thicker, going the entire width of his shoulder area. As they are, it's the sort of thing that only works from a limited number of angles. Tailgate looks like somebody trying to cosplay Shredder but only using kitchenware

Thrilling 30 Swerve is still my favorite, but I do like the AOP Swerve too. Honestly, give him a smile or smirk and it would have worked better. I think the could be true to the old animation and still give some nods to IDW. Now I feel obligated to buy Tailgate though to finish out the deluxe mini bots.

Honestly, I kinda like Tailgate's head. He feels like someone that wants to free cars imprisoned in garages and liberate toasters from their owners.
