Loose Transmetal Megatrons are still pretty cheap but there's a reason for that.

Keep in mind that there are still people who complain that there's no need for new Transmetals when it's suggested, saying most of them were 'close enough' to show accurate the first time. Ignoring that it was literally a generation ago-plus. Then they have a mortality crisis when you point it out.

Also, don't tell them about Megatron's infamous breakage issues. Or bring up how much the less-fragile Takara one goes for now.

My old TM Megatron broke in the usual way, my later Armada Predacon was much more stable. I imagine nowadays that's one figure that would work out better than the original, as there were no electronics or projectiles in the first place, and it's transformation was simple.

I got mine when I attended the 'con in 2004. AND my Sentinel Maximus safely delivered (much) later. Even installed the sound chip from an Armada Oveload.

I for one am appreciating that we even CAN have a term like "sunbow slop" these days, as I take it as a sign of a healthy fandom from the next generation (in a similar vein to the Star Wars prequels getting accepted). It's something that people couldn't have gotten away with a decade ago.

It's a sign of a good design team too. It seemed like absolute magic when Masterpiece first started nailing the Sunbow aesthetic. Now mainline stuff does it like it's nothing.

There is a difference between pointing out that reissuing the Transmetals would be good as the toys are almost certainly better than anything that could be produced under today's budgets and saying there shouldn't be any releases of them at all.

I'd complain about my budget the entire ******* time... but I would also buy an entire new transmetals line... Cause I love that megatron.
