And yet if they slavishly reproduced the BotCon/OTFCC people would complain that there's "no point."people want things to look like how they should look like
This cuts all ways though. I've seen people bash Hasbro for "G1 Sunbow Slop" (actual term I've seen thrown around) but who freak out if an Armada or Cybertron character gets a new toy that doesn't recreate the original 1 to 1.Honestly I think the other problem is, if you go to certain other Transformers communities, the same people who get annoyed when the latest Sunbow G1 guy's colors aren't 100% accurate to the character models are all 'IDK why people are complaining about the colors on Megazarak they look close enough' and it's just tiresome.
Eh, the way I see it, G1 has two forms of accuracy. Sunbow vs toy. Sunbow Prowl doesn't have shoulder launchers, so he's not missing anything. There is a fair difference though. Sunbow accuracy means some characters get stripped of details they'd otherwise have. Prowl doesn't get to have his shoulder launchers anymore. That sucks. We've lost something.
Armada and Cybertron characters really don't have that. There's no tug of war between toy and toon accuracy. When new versions lose something, it's just a budget thing, not a "Well it wasn't in the toon anyway" thing.
Heh, well, now that we have New Legends from Takara, any wild card seems possible after, of all things, Nemesis Star Convoy, Titan class Gigastorm, and a completely new-molded BWII Galvatron.but when are we gonna get the next 3H megazarak? maybe the next time we get a new armada megatron but when are we gonna get that?
tbf that mould was a very hasty G1 Megatron with a head swap deal, so I can see the lack of enthusiasm for doing all the of the repaints from it.Well, the time before last we got an Armada Megatron (from the Leader Class Megatron Tank) we didn't get Galvatron OR Megazarak, so even if the mold is there, it doesn't guarantee anything.
I think that's just cold, hard economics. More people care about G1 than a 3H homage. I'm sorry, but it's true.tbh my other problem is that like...they give us new toys of G1 guys (or redecos of released toys) so damn often. 'oh no the colors aren't correct' damn that sucks, wait like a year or something they'll probably release a new one or redeco this one in more accurate colors.
but when are we gonna get the next 3H megazarak? maybe the next time we get a new armada megatron but when are we gonna get that?
I agree with you that if that's the case they should make their one shot at Megazarak count, and they did seem to come up short on that. And part of me is bummed the colour scheme isn't more accurate....
.... but between the colour scheme looking nice on its own and still being recognizably Margazarak... I'm content.
The original came out more than twenty years ago and costs $1000 on the secondary market. If anybody actually says there’s no point, they’re just stupid. And yet if they slavishly reproduced the BotCon/OTFCC people would complain that there's "no point."
The colours aren't exact, but I can tell this thing is supposed to be Megazarek by looking at it.
These folks aren't concerned with making sense. The original came out more than twenty years ago and costs $1000 on the secondary market. If anybody actually says there’s no point, they’re just stupid.
