I've really been wanting a Megatron to match the Behold Galvatron release. If Megatron looks like Cybertronic, he's basically that.

This makes me wonder if the whole thing started with the idea of "where do we sell a reformatted Megatron deco" and then coming up with the rest of the capsule around it.

There's just such nothing to it. Grab an Op and Megs, because Op and Megs. The concept is to armor them up so grab some of those disassembling armor/weapon guys. (They picked two nice molds, so that's a plus.) And then, uh... Color them the same in pairs and just put some random greeble traces on in white. What do you mean what do we call them? And do we really need a theme? Fine, call the armor guys Cyberverse and Cyberworld. Oh, those are SERIES? Just look for whatever we have trademarked that starts with Cyber, stop making this difficult. Now come on, we only half 20 minutes left to catch Happy Hour.

Cybertread is uninspired but can slide, but "Cybertronic" as a name by itself? Definitely a "10 minutes before clocking out on a Friday" decision.

If Unicron Soldier [edit: HERALD OF UNICRON] is actually supposed to be a Cybertron Unicron homage, the kibble and altmode should be rounder. As it is-- I dig it, and it fits decently well as a generic cultist. (If that is what they were going for, it should positively not be a Leader.)

So a series of compromises, is what I'm guessing.

Cybertronic and Cybertread look good. I was planning on skipping Megs and Optimus, but there's a power that compels me.

Swindle (this is a Voyager, right?), Joyride, and Tailgate for me. But I wonder if they'll bother with a Retro Tailgate so the head isn't quite as... ugly (the POTP.one was great). Here's hoping for opaque instead of clear plastic on this, at least. And if money is there at the time, Megazarak maybe.

Vector Prime, pretty tempting, but I really wish they'd done something to change up how that vehicle front looks. The random plain black atrip still makes it look like he stapled a jet nose to the rest of the fuselage. I never did get this color scheme, but I could probably get a better deal backtracking and getting the original, which should (depending on the deal I get) also have Safeguard.

they're actually calling the retool of pointblank by his japanese name hahahahahahaha this is more weeb than those releases of those previously japan-only cassettebots where they just fuckin used direct romanizations of their names

Swindle and Fangry for me. I'll want to see Megazarak in person first, but being a last wave Leader, that might never happen. None of the other do anything for me.

I'm very surprised to see they really did give Vector Prime a new sword while leaving the rest untouched. I really don't get why they'd do any new tooling just to change the hilt a bit. Really bizarre.

Anyway, definitely Swindle and Vector for me. Tailgate too, though I'll be watching for a good replacement head. I've seen some nice ones out there, but I don't think I've actually replaced any TF heads since TR Galvatron. Herald of Unicron is very likely. Megazarak is a maybe.

And yet they couldn't rename his Targetmaster "Peaceman"...

I definitely prefer this one to the original release, but is it worth paying $30 for a Pointblank with the better head and painted windows?

I don't mind the name change on Pointblank. Iirc the original release was initially leaked as Blanker, not that that has a bearing on anything. But it's a neat little touch to distinguish between versions/releases either way.

In any case, the old "just name it what you want" rule is right there. Is the current name too bland or generic, too weeb-pandering, too blastified, too G1, not G1 enough, too derivative, etc? Have at it.

Oof, a couple of misses there.

Vector Prime still having those terrible legs is a damn crime. It's not even the wires, it's the empty spots for the wings that just look ugly as hell.

Joyride's engine block looks so tacked on and ugly that I honestly don't think they should have bothered. LIke its so big and out of place that it covers up the entire window of the vehicle.

I guess Swindle, Tailgate, Fangry and a maybe on Unicron Soldier for me here.
