I got in an order! Now to see what NonNef or others come up with. I do admit I didn't bother with the DNA upgrade kit for Dinoking, as I honestly didn't think it added much for me, though many love their scythe weapons and alternate chest/head. If someone doesn't make some reasonably priced, simple shells, I may do what I did with Dinoking and get some monsters like the Eldrador stuff Schleich makes. The Safari LTD armored dinos worked well enough last time...

I just recently got in the Dinoking I finally decided to order from BBTS. I went ahead and threw in the DNA kit while I was at it. He doesn't need it as badly as Volcanicus, but the standard Triceratops head just killed the look for me, so ultimately it felt justified. I also appreciate making his left arm more green rather than black.

Went ahead and ordered Monstructor too. Still not the Monstructor I want, but he's A Monstructor I want.

Weird observation, why do half of the product shots show Monstructor missing his stomach armor? Then again, the short transformation promo video gets his legs backwards, so I suspect 'careful editing' wasn't part of the consideration anyhow.

They are just retools of the core class Dinobots, much like Dinoking, they suffer from being desgined around the G1 Dinobots to begin with as Dinoking never had a Dino head upon his chest in the anime!

I preordered Monstructor. I figured I've done Deathsaurus and LioKaiser so I might as well go in on him.

I also hope the 'roc' mode has a way to hide the bot mode face in alt mode...

I can't afford to preorder now, but if it sells out and I have to overpay later I'm not going to be too upset about it. I've waited long enough for this. I'll be happy enough just to have it.

I'm going ti pass on Monstructor because I know next to nothing about the character in general and I've already experienced the moulds via Dinoking who I know more about

wonko the sane?

You may test that assumption at your convinience.

I'd say that I'd be willing to grab him if I found him on sale... that will literally never happen. TRU in canada is closed, walmart never puts transformers on sale, and neither does my local source website. My only other option is EBgames canada... and they generally cycle through stock so slowly that while I might find him on sale... it'll be five years from now.

Preordered on BBTS. I skipped Volcanicus and Dinoking, so they're basically new molds to me.

Wonder how long until DNA announces they're recoloring their upgrade set for the other two to match this one.

I know some people have issues with the size, but I just realized what they and Dinoking sort of remind me of. Puzzler. My first Combiner robot, it was a Go-Bot made of six cars, sort of like a car-only Menasor, except that it was all basic-sized gobots but had ALL the combiner bits built in. It had some flaws, like the tiny hip pins that were so easily broken or the waist area that was super thin chromed pegs, but it was awesome and I played with it as a kid till it literally broke apart. I never had the Core Dinobots, Dinoking was my intro, but I do expect it to work well. Worst-case, I put Dinoking and Monstructor around Deathsaurus's throne and claim Deathsaurus is something like an Ork Warboss/Runtherd leading the runts.

I do plan to reorganize some parts and weapons, there have to be some better arrangements than the stock...

The Hasbro Prime toy was released during the Aaron Archer era, a time when Hasbro cared less about media accuracy and more about "what looks cool and appealing to kids" for mass retail toys, even if that meant giving the toys bizarre wacky colors that didn't match the character color schemes at all.
You make it sound like they made Smokescreen Constructicon-colored or something.
