I think the best way to do Godbomber/Apex would be as a separate figure, in weaponizer style, probably a voyager. That way, Powermaster Optimus can have all the budget to himself (which would probably need to be commander already to do him justice). And Apex could be sold on his own despite being obscure/initially dependent on another figure by being more modular and adaptable to multiple figures. The way the original toy works by itself and interacts with Optimus means it can be done with minimal (if any) compromise.
I've always thought this too. Commander class would I think be comfortable for a PMOP. The frame system is basically made for it.

Apex Bomber What Bombs At Apex is perfect for the Weaponizer style. Leader class has done chonky and parts-laden before. Should be enough for a big chestplate, platform boots, gauntlets, and wing backpack, that happens to also peg together into a body with a head. It's basically WFC Ultra Magnus.

Oh my god... quickstrike is damn near perfect. He's got some weight, the joints are simple and strong, good detailing, good range of motion, simple transformation... okay, I keep getting caught trying get the arms right in transformation (the snake when putting him into robot mode, and the feet putting him in beast mode.) but otherwise beautiful with next to no kibble.

About the only thing I don't like is in fact how they handled pegging the arachnid legs into the body: it makes for a very static beast mode. It was handled better on the original toy: but this way is much stronger.

He won't, but it'd be hilarious if Shockwave got a "real-type" redeco to go with Bruticus.

(Or maybe an Energon Sixshot redeco to go with the hopefully inevitable G2 Bruticus.)

I believe that's called "Galactic Man".
Ehhhh, the Galactic Man redeco is much more of a black repaint. I'm thinking realistic Army-type colors on an alien spacegun.

Though if it says GALACTIC MAN on it (as the WfC one did), that would also be cool.

Your suggestion is a *lot* more likely, though, for whatever that's worth.

Re: Small Unicrons, just do what I do to explain any size issues, all you have to do is claim that the 'small' (whatever the scale is) Unicron is some sort of Avatar he's sending to communicate. There's plenty of fiction precedence for it, and it conveniently explains away any shelf-size discrepancies, like the shelf not being inside a building-scale Transformer. I just imagine the 'real' Unicron in the style of that amazing hyper-expensive statue of him sitting on the throne with the planets being crushed by his hands that I will never afford, sitting in a pocket dimension somewhere.

Wow...that makes perfect sense...and I could easily see Unicron as being one of those entities who doesn't care if one of his worshippers claims to be his avatar, reincarnation, or even flat out claims they're him, since he's just going to consume them in the end with all the rest. It could lend itself to having him holding some very loose standards over deity impersonation.

I always alternated between thinking of Deluxe Unicron as A) the surviving remnants of the original Unicron animating a smaller version of himself that he constructed inside his floating head and escaping to basically "start over" at absorbing the universe, or B) a Herald from another dimension where Unicron had been successful, like Galvatron II from the old Marvel comics.

The old Deluxe Unicron with my head cannon is Unicron's backup and what he uses to claim things that he considers valuable or could potentitally harm him and repair bits of his main body, after the destruction of his main body, he lurks in the shadows plotting revenge and one day rebuild his main body!
