Hopefully, they find some way to release (to everyone, not just Target customers, etc) the 'missing' limbs and centre part. That should hopefully fix the lacklustre alt mode too.
Not impressed with Nexus Prime at all.
It's a shame, he could have been Commander class and basically done the same thing but better, and saved you a Voyager's worth of unused plastic.
Who are you cutting from AotP to make that happen- Silverbolt or Onslaught?
And therein lies the rub. Trying to do all 13 Primes while fitting into all the classes. While also having obviously already planning Devastator, Superion and Bruticus. Along with all theit accompanying limbs. Thus, fitting Nexus in as a Voyager torso bot without the extra personalised frame is, while a fun play option, functionally disappointing since Nexus doesn’t get his own component bots.
Plus, any personalised Nexus frame would clearly complete his altmode.

I'm confused, his alt mode isn't complete? I thought the way it was was the intent. What else would be added?

It's not even a good concept, on any level.
Being a combiner is his whole thing. He's supposed to be the first combiner. Not the first combiner torso. This isn't Heatwave. This is Nexus Prime. This doesn't do his thing.
Okay, he's been reinterpreted as a universal torso filler. So he just replaces a part of future combiners that won't exist for millions of years. So what exactly did he do back in the day?
Just looking at it as a toy, it's still just replacing part of an already completed combiner. To build this combiner you have to already have a combiner. So he doesn't really add anything.
They really should've just made Nexus a Titan-class set as his own complete combiner. Even if the limbs were repaints. It'd be a nice big capstone for the line, and it'd make Star Convoy feel less out of place size-wise.
you know someone over on bluesky was complaining over nexus not being CW compatible and as silly as i think it would be to have the figure work with a gimmick that's 11 years old now...i actually think that might've worked out better than this jive.
