I'm just eagerly awaiting contempt of court charges when something Trump says is ruled to have violated the court order not to discuss the case publicly, because you know he's not capable of keeping his mouth shut.

Trial date has been tentatively set for Aug 14, but it doesn't sound like this is likely to be the actual date, from what Politico says:

Of course it won't be. Trump's entire plan is going to be delaying it as long as possible, with the intent of winning the presidential election and pardoning himself. Even if it does go to trial on time, it'll be dragged out forever; and if it manages to get resolved, he'll bury it in appeals.

Very important distinction here. Poor people have mental illness. Rich bastards are "eccentric" and it's not their fault.
Be very clear about this. There are Americas and Trump resides on the rich side. Consequences are rare and they're something he has never had to deal with before.

tbh, the question at this point isn't "is trump screwed?" it's "how screwed is he?" and, more depressingly, "how much damage are he and his Qu Qlux Qhristan Qult going to do before he's hung for treason?"

He's never gonna get a death sentence. But given his age and health, any prison stay will probably be a life sentence anyway. The real question is how long he can drag it out in appeals before facing any actual sentence.
