Someone got ahold of the "plans" for this thing. It's been designed with AI.

The first time I heard Trump say that he would pay for the ballroom with help from donors, I didn't think the thing would really get built at all, but that if this worked out at least he could skip a potential political fight about funding it.

But look it. The building would have cost us less than $1 apiece to be taxpayer funded and now I'm not sure what it will actually cost us. When the project is actually started and ongoing with Trump pledging to pay whatever donors don't and Congress not having budgeted a cent for it, every donor is essentially reimbursing Trump's pledge. One of those donors was Alphabet who just settled a lawsuit he brought against them in 2021. One is Micron who had a $6 billion federal grant approved by Biden that Trump initially held up but has let through. Are we eventually going to find out that every individual and company on the donor list leveraged a donation to Trump's pocket into a larger sum from Federal funds?

From Financial Times:
"A little-known drone company backed by Donald Trump Jr has won its largest contract from the Pentagon, as the US government expands its procurement of the drones."

"Florida-based Unusual Machines, in which Trump Jr has held a $4mn stake, said the US army had contracted it to manufacture 3,500 drone motors, alongside various other drone parts."

"The company added the army indicated it planned to order an additional 20,000 components from Unusual Machines next year."

Nothing shows how in touch you are like parodying a website that no one's visited in twenty years. Fer Christ's sake, "Safe Spacebook" was right there.

I hadn’t even thought about MySpace existing in something like eighteen years. They’re so full of “how do you do, fellow kids” energy (well, lethargy rather than energy, really).

It's also greatly limiting your audience when your act is nothing but making fun of people for not being rich straight white cis Christian men.
True.
Like, in the years its operated, I think I've seen 3 times they've actually hit on something funny and that can just be chocked up to blind squirrels finally finding a nut. There's just not anything funny about the current conservative outlook. It's all punching down and that's never a good note.

wonko the sane?

You may test that assumption at your convinience.

Never a good note... for mentally healthy, stable people.

But they've been at it for years and still haven't gone bankrupt. And no, morally bankrupt doesn't count. They obviously have just enough of an audience to continue to make it worth their time.

FB friend:
Trumpers say they love America, but they hate America. The America they love is the one from 1950, where women had restricted rights, blacks had almost no rights, gays went to prison, and atheists were accused of treason.

Here's the thing: loving something in the past and hating it in the present is not a different kind of love: it's just hate. If a man says to a woman "I love you, but not present-day you: I hate present-day you and I wish you were the way you look in these old photos", she's not going to think "that's still a kind of love".
It's trippy when a guy who freely hurls accusations like "welfare queen", "living in your mom's basement", "cuck", "simp", "libtard", and "illegal" turns around and complains that it's unfair to accuse him of being stupid just because he has only a high-school education. As if he was taking pains to be fair with his own accusations up till now.

The worst part is that every time this happens, a bunch of feckless centrists will come out of the woodwork to join in their accusations that this was a totally unfair generalization. Where the hug were these centrists when the other guy was hurling accusations and insults left and right?
Trump supporter: "We are going to grind your kind into dust." (actual DM I received)

If you're a white centrist and you feel tempted to lecture me about how non-constructive it is to insult Trump supporters, maybe you should keep in mind that this is how they talk to people like me, so maybe you should shut the hug up before lecturing me about my manners.

Counter to FB Friend Who Needs To Join To Give Us Some Great Debate: they don't even love the 1950s America. They love the 50s version of America that was shown on shows like Mayberry and Leave It To Beaver.

Yeah, I like FB Friend but I refuse to give his posts a like because he should join and post it himself. On a bad day this subforum is a ghost town, so we need the new blood.

I also find it more than a little self defeating for him to be posting these rants on a social network for racist uncles. Like yeah no duh he's getting pushback on them; he's doing the digital equivalent of staging a one-man protest in the middle of rural Texas.
