And which idiot was that? We have a few hundred million of them, so you'll excuse me if I lose track.

So the thing stopping Trump's cult from ceasing to exist is Trump's cult continuing to exist?

We have much better record keeping tools nowadays. The knowledge will survive. The question is how many people will try to deny it so they can copy his playbook.
People can't tell the difference between truth and fiction based on the accounts we have available to us now. It's not going to be easier in the far future....

Saw people out protesting against Trump this afternoon. In a mediocre town in England no-one here will have heard of. (Won’t post any pics in case the protesters end up on watch lists in the States. Or worse.)

Would've been nice if these people bothered to vote last year. But sure, a feel good protest will certainly stop ICE and the National Guard. Give me a ******* break.

Yeah, the visuals are great and all that but it's going to change exactly two things: Jack and jive. Miller doesn't care and Trump certainly doesn't. They're going to continue on the same path they are now, sowing chaos despite what our toothless court system might say because they simply don't care and they know no-one with any real power is going to do anything to stop them.

wonko the sane?

You may test that assumption at your convinience.

The US justice system isn't toothless: it's just ******* slow. When you break the law as par for the course, proper procedure takes a long assed time to catch up. But proper procedure will always lap and outrun the law breakers.

Trump is losing 90-95% of cases in lower and appeals courts. The only place he isn't is the supreme court, and we all know why.

No, it's very much toothless. There's no real method of enforcement. In those court cases that he's lost, they've literally just ignored the rulings.

As long as Trump has the DOJ and Supreme Court in his back pocket any ruling by a lower court may just as well be a fart in the wind. They only obey the rulings they do because it's ultimatly unimportant to them. All any of it is, is a distraction from their real game plan of implementing Project 2025 which I guarantee is proceeding apace.

Welp guess there's nothing we can do but just roll over and die. Got it.

Ironbite-thanks for reminding us it's just hopeless.

It's slacktivism, and you know it. If these people really cared, they would have went to the ballot box in November. I've done my part, voting for Clinton, Biden, and Harris.

I guess those ***** Hat protests in his first term solved all the problems that women face, and everyone lived happily ever after. Sure is nice to have reproductive freedom protected by the Constitution. And the BLM protests solved racism.

Oh, wait.

Which is why people should have taken action in a way that could actually affect change last year. These people just want to make funny signs, and feel like they're part of something.

Protesting absolutely has its place, but most of this is just performative. It's the real world equivalent of posting a meme on social media.
