If there's jailtime involved: I'm sure the pastor will just be transferred to "epsteins island".

Good summary of today's bucket of slag: https://www.usatoday.com/story/news...s-recession-economy-live-updates/82321690007/

The interesting parts to me here:
1) At least 6 agencies have been ordered to reinstate all the "fired" employees. Not all of them however, and based on what my dad had said discussing the firings with him the other day(as he used to be a fed worker himself) it may be because the judge plans to bundle those with some other similar lawsuits to combine them into a class action suit and streamline getting those through, rather than slow things down dealing with all them individually, like Trump undoubtedly hopes for. On the other hand, I also believe he said that has to happen at the first appeals level, so I may be wrong on that,
2) 200% tarriff on -all- alcohol is going to hit some people hard, because the US just doesn't make some of those beverages. Meanwhile the breweries in the US(that it supposedly helps) are like "this trade war sucks"

It was already happening. There was a exodus of East Asian scientists who left during the first Trump administration after the DOJ started witchhunting scientists for connections to China. One guy even committed suicide and the DOJ admitted to making up jive on people. Cutting government funding for science, firing government scientists, attacking universities for "DEI", etc will just set things further back.

Courts are slower than firemen, but they are doing their work.
Let me know when people actually get their jobs back. A judge telling the administration they have to do something is far from the same thing as actually doing that thing.

How do you make this sound like something that was important to do? The person who deleted links that were already on the website is an unnecessary federal employee.

Say things do get to that point: what if we take the dust jackets off of whatever books the MAGAts most want to burn, stick them on bibles, and give 'em those to incinerate? Then when they reach the apex of their cheering and Roman saluting and dancing around the bonfire, we show them a copy of one of the books they're burning and tear the cover off for the big reveal. How badly do you think they'll get burned frantically trying to pull their precious story books out of the blaze?

Realistically: unless they burn the printing presses too, or they burn enough books to start triggering nuclear winter... there's no point getting between them and their anger without enough people being with you to make them think twice.

I mean: a very dramatic idea and the giggles would be priceless; not worth the effort. Not like they'll read the bible anyway.

Yeah, a book burning just isn't the thing it used to be. In the digital age it would be very difficult to keep a book from getting anywhere.

But I don't really think this movement is very interested in that anyway. Discrediting a book or idea with their supporters is fairly easy. I expect the move on library and museum funding is a lot more about how they just don't view such nerdy things as being worth spending money on.
