In regards to that, a slightly different perspective, with a good reminder:

Additionally, I found a lengthier summary (from a WaPo article, I know, but it does give more detail):

Tuesday’s executive order, titled “Ensuring Accountability for All Agencies,” requires all federal agencies to submit draft regulations for White House review, offering no carve-out for independent agencies except for the Federal Reserve’s “conduct of monetary policy.” White House officials will likewise require all agencies to consult with them on their “policies and priorities” and “strategic plans.”

The White House’s Office of Management and Budget will now review “on an ongoing basis,” according to the executive order, the actions of the independent regulatory agencies and may adjust their budgets “to advance the President’s policies and priorities.”

Past presidents have sought to consolidate power over various federal administrative agencies, such as the Food and Drug Administration and the Environmental Protection Agency, Pearlstein noted. But Trump’s White House is going a step further to target agencies that Congress created to be “deliberately insulated from political interference.”
The Constitution gives the president the power to remove top executive-branch officials for any reason at all. But Congress has passed legislation — signed by previous presidents of both parties — designed to ensure the independence of certain agencies by preventing presidents from firing their leaders without good reason or limiting presidential control over their budgets.

If you do not believe Trump is going to use this to declare himself final arbiter of law, then you're fooling yourself. This sets him up where he and Bondi get to give him and anyone he chooses immunity to any law he finds inconvenient.

Again, text matters and making up stuff that's not in it just because we know what his endgame is playing into what they want. If everything is an emergency, nothing is, and it causes outrage fatigue, which lessens our ability to react appropriately. Same tactic where they submit crap bills to the House about things like making Trump's birthday a holiday so the media focuses on that and ignores some of the other bills they're trying to slip through at the same time.

Here's where the tire actually meets the road:

Here they appear to be ACTUALLY refusing a court order finally, so we'll see where this goes. (For clarity, TRO I'm pretty sure is Temporary Restraining Order, as this is over the hold they put on the USAID funding freeze, and how they are trying to interpret it.)

When he said "Some of these people would have been alive before America existed as a country. Think about that for a second" someone should have stood up and said, "No, YOU think about it." When and how did someone get in the system who was 250 when the program started? The explanation isn't what I would have assumed, but you've gotta know that this isn't an example of somebody abusing the system. It has to be a data issue. Someone who was laundering money is going to be more careful than this and someone who just didn't report their parents death was already way too late.

One other ACTUAL problem with the earlier executive order I just heard:
A White House Liaison is to be installed in every independent regulatory agency to enforce direct presidential control.
Political officers. Trump is implementing political officers in all the federal agencies.

It's because the database was coded in COBOL. The "default" zero-date is in 1875.

Of course, Musk and his Twitler Youth don't know this because they're either idiots or too young and inexperienced to know that COBOL exists.

WEll, I'd love to read the article but it's behind a paywall so....
The TL;DR version is that Boeing has been preparing two 747s to be new replacement Air Force Ones. This takes a lot of work because the planes require all sorts of defensive tech, and they've been working on the planes since last time Trump was in office. Trump is impatient and wants to speed up the process up by lowering the security clearance needed so Boeing can get more people working on it. Also Musk is involved because of course.

So potential scenarios:
1/ plane falls apart in mid air because Boeing
2/ plane explodes in mid air because Musk
3/ plane explodes in mid air because a foreign power sneaked an agent onto the build team
4/ plane crashes on landing because DOGE fired all the air traffic controllers
5/ plane crashes mid-flight because the pilot lost his job thanks to DOGE and bailed out

Oh, he’s seemingly declared himself king on Twitter. Great.
I'm quoting this because it's so ******* important.

He declared himself king. Not joking, not playing. He called himself the ******* king. On the same day he's chosen to ignore a court order.
At this point it's all over but for the bleeding. We no longer have democracy.

And before anyone gets on me for "overreacting", this was the picture the official white house twitter account used.
