I never understood the fluoride thing. Is it just left behind from the process they use to disinfect it, or are they actually trying to claim that the two seconds it spends flowing through your mouth as you drink it is an effective substitute for brushing your teeth?

wonko the sane?

You may test that assumption at your convinience.

It, quite effectively, fights tooth decay. It's a dirt cheap option in places that have lackluster oral hygiene to raise overall population health. It's marginal in places (one would assume like the first world.) but it also has no draw backs. It doesn't hurt, doesn't do anything long term if you already have decent hygiene, and it's (again.) dirt cheap. Doesn't replace brushing your teeth, but it helps overall and long term physical and oral health.

And I know all this because montreal is once again fighting to stop adding it to the local water supply. The city with the most lead in the pipes in north america is fighting to get the flouride out of the water.

Yeah, the lead in the aging North American water infrastructure is probably a FAR greater health concern than whatever adverse effects Flouride might impart.

As a Gen-Xer who used to drink from the hose after long days of playing outside, I have mild fluorosis spots on my front teeth and there's no way to get rid of them.

I've been anti-fluoride my whole life due to that, long before Dr. Brainworm made an issue out of it. I'd rather brush my teeth with fluoride toothpaste if oral health is the goal.

Unless specifically stated: every toothpaste contains fluoride. Not sure about in the states, but I (years ago when I first learned it.) tried to find one without flouride to satisfy my own curiosity. I could not. At least not locally. This was before you could readily get jive off the internet though.

Trump praised Gorka, who was born in the UK to Hungarian parents, as a “tireless advocate for the America First Agenda and the MAGA Movement”.

But Bolton came out swinging at Gorka on Friday. The arch-conservative, who served in the Reagan, George W Bush and first Trump administrations, has set out his stall against many of Trump’s picks, including former Democrat and Iraq veteran Tulsi Gabbard for director of national intelligence, and told CNN that he “wouldn’t have him in any US government”.

Earlier this week, Bolton told NewsNation’s The Hill that up until Gorka was nominated by Trump as a deputy assistant to the president and the senior director for counter-terrorism, he would have said that Gabbard’s nomination “was the worst cabinet appointment in recent American history”.

Bolton’s not alone in his criticism. Democratic National Committee spokesperson Alex Floyd called Gorka “a far-right extremist who is as dangerous as he is unqualified to lead America’s counter-terrorism strategy”.

It's not that a lot of us don't care. It's that we're so burned out over the famous and influential thumbing their noses at the law that we have a hard time expecting anything else. It's yet another problem that Trump didn't start, but he's sure as hell making it worse.

Anti-corruption laws really need to have actual teeth and a justice department willing to use them..... Sometimes think we need a 4th branch of government to keep an eye on the other three branches and be in charge of enforcing such things, because obviously the other three aren't doing a good job of policing themselves.... I have NO idea how to implement that without said branch also being able to break itself, though.

Kinda hard to do when nearly a half of the population is buying what the fascist is saying.

And that half is armed and primed for violence.

But hey, maybe some latinos will change their mind about supporting trump when they see the "ranch" in texas they're going to live on until they get deported.

The economy is likely the only thing that will save us. IF Trump does what he says he'll do on the economy, it will drive up inflation(due to purposely devaluing the dollar while simultaneously implementing tariffs AND causing a labor shortage due to the deportations) It will hurt enough people in the pocketbook that they'll think twice about continuing to support him.

At this point it is going to take a full on depression, akin to the Great Depression, for there to be any movement of the needle. The propagandists and foreign actors have placed themselves prime to control the narrative and cast blame.
Until that changes, I have no hope for the future. Until Citizens United is overridden, until there's a solution to the Fox News problem, until foreign actors cannot buy accounts on Facebook and other places and absolutely spam the bullshit to the uneducated masses, the needle will not move.

Depends on what needle you're talking about. Will people "wise up"? Probably not. But people can and will be reliably depended upon to punish incumbants when the economy is bad. So long as voting power is not, itself, taken away (not an assumption I make these days), Ungnome's statement is likely to hold true.

Many latinos are in fact citizens, and not at all in any risk of deportation.
They want to repeal birthright citizenship, and naturalization has a mechanism to strip it from individuals. They plan to deport between 20 and 25 MILLION PEOPLE (at a cost of 88 billion per million people.). One ass went on camera and was completely hyped to put kids back in cages.

If you are brown, black, yellow, literally any colour other than white: they want to deport you. They will try. How well they succeed depends entirely on their competence, and it's still destroying millions of lives, just probably not all 25 million lives.

Bye bye abluita. You're going back where you came from even if you've never broken a law... other than crossing the border. Hell, you might not have even needed to do that. Trump want you out even if you did everything by the book. He's never read any books anyway.
